Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
thats kind of what I'm doing, I have an extra frame, gonna weld it inside the stock frame, then cut the stock frame off, it wil give me an extra 3 inches, I got an 8.8 explorer rear end, and am doing the 2 short side axle thing to it, and the corvette rims I got dish in 71/2 inches so it will all fit under nicely.

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
i kind of like the big emblem, but it looks weird cause of the phantom grille. usually people go with the phantom grill for a sleek clean look, and a big emblem just doesnt fit right with nothing else there. if it was just a billet grille and there was still visible headlights, i think itd look sick and fit in more.

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
I almost feel ashamed to post mine here. Compared to some of the other trucks, mine's a turd, but I love the thing. Had it for about a year and traded it off, then got an opportunity last week to get it back in exchange for my (slow as hell and almost bone-stock) '84 Mustang, so I jumped at the chance. Finally got a chance to give it a wash and wax yesterday, but I still need to give it a good vacuuming. Interior's not much to look at, but it's comfy enough...

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
Not the prettiest, but it's been a few years since pics were last taken.
![]() ![]() ![]() Looks mostly stock, but it's actually far from it. Originally had all the chrome and a blue bench interior. The chrome is no more (mostly), the interior is from a Sonoma GT, and there's been a few things done to make it perform better. |

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
![]() Plans include ... ummm ... putting in gas and driving it to/from work every day. If I had money to throw at it, I'd give it a 2/3 drop, put on a bed cover, tint the windows, replace the rear window with a one-piece (I've got shims to keep the thing from rattling and driving me nuts, but it makes it non-functional), put on some matching tires, and maybe a couple of minor gas mileage/horsepower mods (electric fan, K&N filter, 4.3 TBI/bored intake, and better exhaust). But I'm pretty well flat-broke, so ... meh. I'm just keeping the thing clean and in good running condition for the time being. ![]() |

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
Rear drop is all leaf spring re-arc (no blocks). Had leafs redone for 3" drop, but think it maybe closer to 4" drop in rear (also removed overload). Front is a 3" drop also (belltech 2" spindles & 1" lowering spring). However, with the V8, it is probably 3 1/2" - 4" drop in front. The rear tires are 26.1" tall (Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials 275/50R15) mounted on 15x9 Draglites. Front skinnies are 26x6.00R15LT Mickey Sportsman S/R radials (26" tall), mounted on 15x4 Draglites. Since I installed slide-a-links, unforunately truck is now too low. I'm going to refabricate the front spring eye bracket & raise 1". I may also re-arc/raise rear leafs 1", which will also help my moroso 3way drag shocks work even better. On the front, I just removed belltech sway bar & plan on removing belltech 1" springs & drop shocks & replace with either moog 4cyl springs & moroso drag shocks, or replace with QA1 Pro coilovers with their small block springs. This would also raise front slightly & front end would lift more for even better weight transfer. Pics of slide-a-links (including, ground clearance & front bracket which I will refab & raise higher): ![]() ![]() ![]() Engine has been in truck for over 10 years, & still have no headers. Originally I built a (sleeper) street truck with blacked out camaro wheels & no headers to keep it quieter. Now that I just put truck back on the road & changed to a street/strip weekend driver, headers are on "TOP OF MY LIST". Future plans are to rebuild my 350 4 bolt main to a 383 stroker (500+hp), & with 350+hp in truck now, hard to match a set of headers to work well on both setups ? Also before I get headers, I would like to get new fuel cell & move behind rear-end underneath, so I can run nice straight exhaust down each frame rail. Pics of engine (over 10 years in truck & still runs great & looks ok): ![]() ![]() cheers, |

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
Just picked it up yesterday for the nice price of $1000
My first s10![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() By the end of next summer all the body work will be done (Rust repaired, custom shaved tailgate and rollpan) and repainted and the windows tinted, rear decal thrown on, full custom exhaust w/t headers, custom badging, dash done, custom guages and a system in. By the end of this winter hopefully the front bumper will be repainted, aftermarket smoked tail lights in and the lip/mirrors/wiperblades painted. Don't know what the finished look will be except it'll be stock height as I bought this truck to haul around my horse stuff... Eventually I wanna throw in a throttlebody and throttlebody spacer and COI. Nothing esle as it's first and foremost a working truck Last edited by G91s10 : 10-15-2009 at 06:31 PM. |

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here
Looks good, nice start. Doesn't look like there is a lot of rust to repair on there. What kind of rear decal? Did you join Zero Clearance or another club or is it a horse decal.
