8MPG in 2WD about 4MPG in 4WD - that trip took about 18 gallons of gas, so yeah... When I got home I was at 1/8th of a tank of gas. It would SUCK running out of gas that far from civilization!

Really nice Typhoon. Those wheels are ugly on everything but S-series. They look great on first and second gens, they seem to fit the style of the truck perfect.

Ironduke2.5 very nice truck.
ShuggsRR beautiful Typhoon, very clean, wish I could get one someday.
I think I may have gotten my wife hooked on these s10/15 trucks now. She is starting to point them out to me when we drive by one. Even told me I could buy a third one for the driveway so I could do my long box ex cab conversion.

Nice rides everyone.. This is my new project. Almost rust free, bought off some old, rich fart. Its been garage'd all its life and it shows. Needs to be dropped, some brand new zq8's w/ bfg radials on the way soon. 105K miles on her, and yes it is 4wd.

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

hmm, well crap im really starting to regret buying this 4x4. What is the offset difference, i thought it was only like 2 inches in the front. Thanks for breaking my heart guys. So what options do i have for rims?? Im looking for a relatively small drop of 3/3. Can i just offset the back with spacers to even things up a bit? I have to get rid of these pizza cutter tires asap. lol

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

The difference is about 2" all around. Try checkin out some 4th gen camaro/firebird wheels they have the same backspace,
or even vette wheels, but I think you need spacers with those.

They look really good on Caprices and Impala SS's. I used to have a set on my '93 Caprice LTZ.

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

4X4's are kind of a pain to drop....you also gotta think of your front drivetrain geometry...angles will change and most likely not for the better

theres a guy on here who has a bagged Typhoon(which is AWD)....said he couldn't really drive it low b/c the front axles would pop and would eventually tear something up

not saying you cant drop a 4 wheel drive....just be careful on how low you go

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

Couple shots of my '91.
Things to come:
- Paint Gloss Black.
- Replace rear window with a solid, vinyled one.
- 2/3" drop (for now, lol).
- Spray or Roll on bedliner.
+ more as time passes...

it's because you are attaching the images. if you click on the icon that says Insert Image, then a popup comes up that you enter a link into like
