Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

the Blue I used was off the mazda protege in like 2002, yes that is the stock s-10 bumper I shaved the bumper bolts and molded in the license plate box, I think its a trenz grille, I was around $150, I am going to be upgrading to the 91-93 GMC s-15 front end soon hopefully. I hope to do a motor swap to a 4.3 and shave some stuff and hopefully tow tone it.
Thanks for all the props guys

How, where, when, why, who, did you get that bumper? Is it a serious mod? I can't find any thing like it anywhere. Is it made for another truck, but you made it fit? Tell me what it takes to fit mine. '93 Sdime x-cab. It said I have to lengthen this message in order to send it so I did.........

it is a toyota bumper conversion. you need to cut the lower front off your fenders. you can get the kit here at www.sporttrucking.com

That would be mine, no cutting of the fenders, bolted it on with a bracket we welded on the frame. No cutting of the bumper or the frame, heres some more pics

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

I need a couple other things before I worry about the corner light. Like door pins and bushing and window tracks and the lil plastic clip that holds the window back (tired of holding the window to roll it up and down) A passenger mirror. But if you cut me a good deal I might buy it. Kinda wanted clears but I can take one stock one to clean up the front from having that hole. So hit me with a PM if you could.

I'm liking this flat bed. That would be sweet with some varnished old time
wood uprights using antiqued chain to hold em. A set of American
TTII's in 18's on the back and 17's on the front with a 5/4 drop
would look nuts. Do something below the bed to cover the frame
and dump the flaps. Ride would be one of a kind.

Right now it's covered in mud. I've been having a little fun with it following a couple heavy rain storms.

It won't be this way much longer. I'm just waiting on an Air Zenith compressor and an SD 3-link before I bag it. After that, a Vortec 5.7 or an LT1 will not be far behind. Before the show season it will also get shaved and have a nice coat of baby blue PPG primer layed down.

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

Got my Sonoma GT (only 806 ever made) up for sale....

I have decided to sell my GT project...I found a new project & lost interest in it.

The Sonoma GT was a Very Limited Vehicle sold only in 1992, after production of the syclone had ended. GMC produced only 806 of these rare trucks.
They share the Syclone's interior (except the Syclone glove box badge & seat embroidery). They have the same Center Console and 700r4 tranny. They were all powered by the 195 HP Vortec 4.3L V-6. The Sonoma Gt's and syclones shared the same front & rear bumper covers and similar side ground effects, but no upper wheel arches.

Looks like a Syclone, but 2wd and no turbo.

125K miles
Lowered
Nice Exhaust
Runs and drives good
Air blew Ice Cold last itme it was fired.
New Windshield
NOS Console hinge
Original ownwers manual and brochure (RARE)
Bed looks brand new everywhere.... SUPER CLEAN

I removed the original bed (rotted) and POR 15'd the rear frame rails before putting the ultra-clean white bed on the truck. I also disassembled the interior to clean it. I steam cleaned the carpet, POR15'd the floor boards just cause and installed a new windshield.
I have all of the hard-to-find cladding pieces for it, but it still needs the common Sy-Ty front bumper & cover. I was planning on running a standard front bumper at first until I found a Syclone or Typhoon bumper & cover since they are more common than the GT's.
The truck is 95% done, but here is a list of the things that need to be done:
Front sheet metal needs lined up
Needs front bumper & cover
Rocker patches need welded in place
Needs painted.
Drivers side power window motor needs replaced

I don't really want to sell it, but I would really like to see someone finish it!!!

I want $ 2,000

Please email me directly at:
gmachinestuff@gmail.com

Re: Post Ur 1st Gen Pics Here

Some pics of my '87 with stock 2.8/700r4 and 280k+ miles successfully towing a 24ft travel trailer 300mi, including through a mountain pass. (Seattle, WA to Spokane, WA) 30mph speeds were occasionally experienced on grades, but 60 was attainable and comfortable on flat ground. I probably averaged 50. I used a trailer brake controller, as well as a weight-distributing hitch. The sloppy steering in the Blazer made it a bit sketchy in places where I-90 has big grooves worn in it from traffic, but it wasn't unmanageable. Not a bad tow, overall.

Sorry for the low quality pics.
