Re: lets see your dashes!!!

nothign was fiberglassed. it was sanded down smooth, primered until it was smooth and strong. then painted and cleared. i wouldn't suggest using this method if u like pressing down on ur dash alot!!!! hahaha.

Re: lets see your dashes!!!

:O i love your dash! just like me.. you took the time to take the instrument cluster apart and paint everything. I took mine apart, and got right down and painted the background of the gauges.. and the needles.. and i may have set the odometer back while i was at it .. but shhh.. dont tell my insurance company!

i sanded mine down and used krylon paint and alot of clear coat, you could also use automotive paint at a higher price or even vinyl dye would work on softer surfaces without cracking, the key is in the prep work if you dont prep it correctly it will show in the end so sand it till your fingers go numb lol, good luck!

I've seen some awesome rattle can paint jobs that they went over again with a clear coat. With good prep work you can make up for slackin on the paint quality.

Re: lets see your dashes!!!

yeah it's made out of sheet metal. Framed it out of 1" square tubing, then covered it with 16g. metal. Took about 20 hours or so to build, but all in all not that hard.
