Re: clear headlight conversion ?'s

I believe you'll find more info in the elec forum, but to
give you an idea, one option is convert from H6054
sealed beams to H4 bulb headlamps housings and
then add a HID kit that is avail on eBay.

Members over in the elec forum have given props to
this one seller who has a kit avail for a 100.00 or
so. It's been a while, but if you do a search you'll
find plenty of info there. I believe most there have
later model rides, but there are kits avail for 1st
Gens.

You listed the Hella HB2 lamp which is a first rate
lamp and yes it will go right in. You will then have
to come up with H4 bulbs. You may wan to update
your wiring and get HD ceramic sockets for the
bulbs if you want it bright to light up the road.

I use Cibie E-Code 200mm lamps with Osram 85/80
H4 bulbs in mine. I updated the wiring to a system
using relays and 10 gauge wire with indiv fuses
and it lights up pretty darn bright at night. I don't
use blue bulbs, but that's ones choice.

HTH's.

I'd stay away from the 19.00 dollar crap. Hella has
been around a long time and is a quality lamp.

Here is another kit like the one you linked to from Autobarn.
The Hella lamp will accept 9003, H2 and H4 bulbs.

If you wreally wanted blue and bright, you can go with
the Hella Xenon 100/80W blue bulb. It should really
throw out a beam, but you might get a ticket for them..

Re: clear headlight conversion ?'s

im actually runnin those headlight housings in my truck those alone with the h4 bulbs that come with them where a huge improvement at night. the only down fall on these headlights is that they are not dot approved i had them in when i went through inspection and failed cause of it, so i just ran home and swapped my stockers back in and changed them back out once i got home. and just so you know hids will work well in those housings but hids are ment to be run in a projector style lens because it can focus the light from the bulb with these style housings the light kinda just goes everywhere alot of guys with civic does this and that is the result also you will run into the same problem they have where your high beam and low beam are in the same bulb so you will either need to buy the more expensive kit which allows you to still have high beams or you can just get the standard kit and you will have no high beam. heres the style kit you should be lookin for.

also be aware those cheap hid kits you see all over ebay like the one i showed you your gonna get what you pay for so dont expect the bulbs to last long.
