chevy s10 dome light problems

2000 Chevy S-10 Pickup - The dome light won't come on except sometimes the override switch will work, I tried a jumper on the wire plug at the pin switch, still nothing. The radio sometimes won't shut off after the key is removed and the door is opened. I'm thinking it may be the mechanism for the headlight, dome override, and dimmer has partially failed. I hope someone has information. Thanks, Greg

the door pin switch in the drivers door likes to stick...that could cause your problem

its built into the latch

Almost as common as guys asking question on their second gen trucks in the first gen section.

Thanks, as a newbie to both this forum and computers, I'll see if I can figure out where I'm supposed to post my questions.

Yes, I did that before posting here, I did a bypass and it still didn't help. Thanks for your responses, I apparently posted in the wrong forum but I think I've found the right one now so I'll post over there. I have a few other issues that just came up this morning.
