Re: can firebird rims fit on a s10

yeah, I think only the rears will fit properly iirc. So 4 rears would fit

Re: can firebird rims fit on a s10

the 16'' formula rims should fit a 4x4, they have the same BS as the 4x4's or close to it.

Re: can firebird rims fit on a s10

if they're going on a 2wd then i think you need 1/4'' spacers it the front and like a 1 1/2'' in the rear or something like that for them to look right and not rub.

The Formula 16's have different backspace front-rear. Only the rears are similar to a 4x4, but since the 4x4 has a wider track at the front it should work if you switch them around. Put the fronts on the rear and the rears on the front, should work out OK.

The rims will fit on your s10. Pontiac Firebird had no tire size option for the 16 in rims. 245/50's . . .with the 4 - 16's installed, the 4x4 gear ratio will have a slight signal change, but no problem. One of two concerns is the stud length and lug nuts. The standard studs will not give you a full stud thread. The standard nuts have a smaller bevel cone. Suggest that two longer studs be installed on front / rear and 20 lug-nuts with 'more-meat' secure the rims.

Note: The 245/50's mounted stick out a 'bit' and while they look good, each will be subject to introduce road debris to the lower panels.

Front backspacing specs 4.75
Rear backspacing specs 5.25
Formula Firebird wheels /\
4th gen wheels that fiit nicely on a 4wd has a 6.875 backspacing, so they will stick out past the fenders per these specs. Now these specs vary on wheel width, but stock 4wd S-Series has a 6.000 backspacing.
Stock 4wd wheel specs are 15x7, and formula wheels are a 16x8.

Wink Re: can firebird rims fit on a s10

http://www.tacreationsusa.com/firebird_wheels.htm <---- best link there is to answer most questions about this firebird and camaro/TA wheel post.. i have a set of 91-92 Firebird optional rims "Gold" and painted them Metallic and both the same wheel backspacing on both front and back. and 5x4.75 Here is a link to my photo album showing you my 98 truck with the wheels on it. I have no problems with rubbing but the back wheels stick in a bit in my opinion.http://www.flickr.com/photos/volkswagenbus/4825864946/sizes/l/in/photostream/. I also have a different rearend in it 3.73 I ruduced the tire size down 10% and went wee a bit wider on the tire width. The truck seems to get better gas mileage, and im not sure why...any ideas? i live in Northwest-flatland Ohio and its an Automatic. I paid $400 for this truck, put plug wires on it and have driven it from ohio to Washington state all the way to maine. And i live in ohio, so its been back and fourth. I love My truck!
