Bed bolts help!
So I'd like to bolt my bed on, but the bolts have suffered the same fate as a lot of other stuff on my truck. I lost them. Now I need to know the length size and pitch of the bed bolts. Anyone know?

Re: Bed bolts help!
just go to GM. I dont see them charging too much more than any other bolts store. expect to pay $2-3 per bolt.
or maybe send s10 warehouse a message... or go to a junk yard... Last edited by travisn : 11-05-2009 at 09:40 PM. |

Re: Bed bolts help!
They should be the same as a fender bolt with a 13mm head I believe. Unless you lost all of those as well, there is your sample.
Some of the local hardware stores sell the black oxide bolts with the washer or you could check out The Clip House. (ask for Fran ) |

Re: Bed bolts help!
15mm on the heads, so not the same as fender bolts. I'm sure they are metric but not sure what size

Re: Bed bolts help!
I dunno, think of the load on them, it’s a side to side shear load. A 16 penny nail has awesome side load, if you ever roofed, the jacks are just nailed in with 2-3 each and you can put 5-10 bundles and 3 guys and they don't come out, as its a side load, would have to shear. Now a up and down load of even 5% of that weight would pull the nail out. Which is similar, the only real load on the bed bolts are side to side shear loads. Not really any load on the threads or nuts, cept to hold it down, which gravity n weight helps. Long as he’s not lifting the truck up by the bed with an over head hoist…… Now of course got out n buy good grade 8 with the good anti rust coating. The cheap HW store grade 5 will rust nasty quick. |
