Re: 1st Gen Build

Thanks. For the bracing i just used some 1" square tubing i had lying around. I wanted to make sure it was square because we cutout the rockers after the floor was cut and remade them. There bullet proof I'll have to see if i have any other pics

why do people kill the intergrity of the truck making it some ghetto bagged ride? atleast if your gonna lower it do it for performance. not to leave a good transmission laying in the middle of the road because you want a "low rider"

It's cool, first negative comment that anyone has posted. I have to get out there this weekend. Starting to get cold here in Michigan, and the clutch in my Nissan is almost dead so i might have to fix that first.

Well you didn't look hard enough then. And I plan on doing a twin turbo and NOS. Just not smart building a motor if you don't the firewall done.

There is a lot of things I would do different if I had unlimited funds. Like buy a bran new truck and cut it up. But I work with what I can afford and I'm proud i did everything myself or with the help of friends. There will never be a shop involved ever.

Have u tried to put the bed on with the 20's yet? I'm build mine right now Stockfloored 3.75" and Im trying to figure out how much i got to norrow the rear end... I'm going to run 20x8.5 or 22x8.5... If yours is fine whats your Rim size and backspacing...

Re: 1st Gen Build

Honestly i haven't even checked it yet. I'm doing a tilt bed and skinning the top. I think I'm just going to get 2 new bedsides and build a frame. I don't think you will have to narrow the rear end running 20's. You may have to roll the lip or flare it a lil bit. Thats a lot easier and cheaper then getting a rear end made.

Re: 1st Gen Build

update update your build gets me motivated. so motivated i really thinking of cut out my stock cab floor and making my own. as for making the bed heres a pic of my frame. its super strong and just tacked together but i can hang on it and it don't move and it still light 1"x1" .100 wall square tube. just some ideas for you.

Re: 1st Gen Build

Looks good. That exactly what i had in mind.

I spend the last week pulling the tranny out of my Nissan D21. Pain in the ass. The input shaft bearing was really bad. But I bought a 93 Civic SI this weekend so i have something else to drive. Needs the motor put back in so the truck is going to sit for a week or so.

Re: 1st Gen Build

I haven't touched in in a month kinda sad I know. It's been so cold here I cant afford to heat the barn up to work on it. Last time I worked on it i welded up the rest of the floor, next up is getting the doors back on finishing up my suicide install. Then the front end back together and figure out what I'm doing for the grill.

Re: 1st Gen Build

Bad news everyone. The project has not moved in a couple months. Economy here in Michigan isn't getting better running out of money. The truck is getting pulled from the shop I normally work out of and going into my garage for storage(no power.)

Working on getting a side business going right now making custom parts, powder coat. I need to get some more income coming in before I can even think about getting this truck done.

On the bright side we are working on buying/building some new machines so it will be a lot easier to finish next year when we get everything set up.

Sorry for not posting any updates.... Good news our new powder coat company is up and running. So lets just say EVERYTHING on the truck will get coated. I know I'm not suppose to advertise on here but you can check out the site custompowderkote.com Let me know if you guys need anything done.
