1991 4.3 ltr distributor firing order

Need help. Trying to replace distributor cap and rotor wires got mixed up. Have obtained firing order but am not sure where exactly is the number one position on cap. Inside cap there is a #1. Is this the number one wire to connect to #1 plug. Also need a diagram identifying firing order on block.. Marks on manifold are not legible.

Thanks.

Re: 1991 4.3 ltr distributor firing order

okay, on chevy motors, the odd side is ALWAYS the drivers side

so

6 5
4 3
2 1

ft of truck

never go by cap marks, you never know if anyone cobbed the distributor in in the wrong place. roll the motor over to top dead on the 2nd mark on the balancer with the distributor cap off and the rotor on.
use that for number one. line the cap up and firing order is 165432. clockwise.

(yeah i know he can be off 180 this way to all the non noobs, but at least this way he has a 50% shot)

Take the spark plug out of #1 and feel for pressure as you turn the crank. When you do feel it continue to the mark on the balancer. That is TDC for #1. Run the wires according to the firing order like deeze said and you're good to go.

Number 1 on the dist should always be pointing towards
num 1 cylinder.

Isn't the firing order stamped on the intake manifold?

And an easy way to figure out what the number one side is look and see which head is furthest forward.

Sounds like you did not pull the distributer out, so don't worry about finding TDC. Just put the cap on and go from there. Now follow BG's good picture diagram and try not to let the others confuse you with to much info.
