Question 1989 S10 Durango

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the regular 1989 S10 and the 1989 S10 Durango? Is it the fuel injection? I just brought it home yesterday and was curious. Also, how do you instal aftermarket CD players into it?

Re: 1989 S10 Durango

its not the fuel injection that makes it different, its just another trim package.

i believe its a trim package as well. as for a cd player, all u need is a wiring harness, install kit and antenna adapter.

Re: 1989 S10 Durango

Yeah, I tell people everyday that its a chevy and not a crappy dodge. If you research s10's also had 4cyl. cummins. My 1989 s10 Durango has a 4.3 with ac,mdl,mw, 4x4, ac, extended cab, runs like it was new with no leaks at 207,000 miles. Now who wants to talk about a stinkin' toyota lasting forever? Im proud of my truck.

Re: 1989 S10 Durango

Ok i have an 1984 s10 Durango package xcab with the 2.8l engine, I bought it for $500.00 , and the engine was in bad shape, so me and my dad took it out, and put another 2.8l engine in ok? So yea i don't know where i heard this from but i heard some where that you could put a 4-barrel carb on the 2.8l engine. I was just wondering weather it's worth it to up the power of the engine a little? What do you guys think? Do you have any other ideas for a to help me boost my engines horse power?(if it's worth it)

Re: 1989 S10 Durango

Look in the main forums page and there's a link to 60v6 (2.8/3.4) in the engine and drive train section. Like adamwilkes20 said, there's a lot of good info there.
