Re: who has old torsion bars they dont want

I've got a set that I pulled off my 95. The ones I'm runnin now came off a 99 Blazer and were beefier than my originals. But you're welcome to the old ones although I don't know if they would be any better than your current Tbars. My only other suggestion would be to check your local salvage yard. Take a dial guage along with you to measure Tbar diameters. They do come in different diameters. That's why I swapped mine. The new beefier TBars really firmed up the ride in the front and any minor adjustment at the keys gives a much better resultant lift. Right now the bolts are all the way out and it still sits higher in the front than it did with the old Tbars.

Re: who has old torsion bars they dont want

I don't know for sure. But I believe that is the largest diameter. Need to recheck mine to verify. I wish I could find some hard data on the various torsion bar diameters and associated spring rates, but I haven't been able to find said info. Hey brian are your torsion bars sagging or do you have something else in mind for them?

Re: who has old torsion bars they dont want

mine came off of a zr2 blazer in South Carolina that got SAS'd. i dunno about shipping... but if you want to pay shipping for these ill get em out to ya! there heavy.... i didnt realize you were in N.C., thats not too far. im right smack dab in the middle of Georgia

-oh, and im pretty sure all tbars for these trucks are the same, weather its a zr2 or not. i went to the dealership to try an order some new ones (when i put the susp. lift on i wanted everything brand new) but they wanted a rediculous amount and the closest one was in Alaska... lol. he said the part #'s were all the same

Hey Brian , I have 2 sets of t bars and I will even send ya my old "lift" keys if ya want. Sounds like you have people that live alot closer for shipping cost reason, however if ya want them they are yours.

My local parts guy(GM dealership) found 4 different part numbers. Each has a different spring rate but his book didn't list which was which. I know LMC wants $250 or $350 each for new ones. So I hit the local salvage yards with a dial guage and found the beefiest bars they had. I believe the ones I got came off a 2000 Blazer.

Hey Brian you can have my old tbars but I doubt they're any better than your current tbars. That's why I replaced them.
