well I got another new truck

Well heres the scoop, I sold the BlaZeR2 to get a good jeep. I dont think that worked out, because I just got a somewhat ok jeep that I just found out needs more work than I thought.

I bought the jeep from a guy who knew nothing about it and bought it the way I bought it (lifted). When I got the wrangler it came with a soft top, but the catch was when I got it home it started to rain so I was putting it on and it was missing a ton of shit and had a gash in it. So I had to buy a top, a drivers seat because the old one was FUKCED.

So heres some of the things I know about it, its a 1990 YJ. It has a different engine in it and is carbed, and its a 5spd manual. For the lift, my brothers neighbor told me that I had about a 3-4"shackle lift and about a 4" spring lift from what he was guessing. since we werent the ones who did the lift, we have no exact way to know yet. It has some 33x12.50 interco super swampers, I believe they are TSL's.

oh yea, I got it for $2400 so I only spent about half the money from the blazer, and the rest will go into fixing it + more.

plans are, get a daily driver. Put a SOA on the jeep, full widths, eventually a 350 (it will be chevy powered once I'm done)

Heres the pics:

Re: well I got another new truck

That only looks like a 2" shackle lift to me. My buddy has a 95 YJ and his were about that long

Re: well I got another new truck

Honestly I have no idea, the guy before me knew nothing at all, so...

I am stuck with a ton of work with it so I decided that its going to be a toy now and I need to find a daily.

Re: well I got another new truck

Nice Jeep. Yeah it looks like a 4" suspension with a 1 1/2" to 2" shackle lift.

Throw in a set of locked D44's and swap in a bigger engine and the thing will be a beast.

Re: well I got another new truck

If it's carbed it's the 4.2 liter inline 6. It's a really torquey motor. Great for offroad because it's got a lot of low end power.

Re: well I got another new truck

No probably not...lol...My buddy had a TJ(cant remember what year) on 34" LTB's and he would break an axle shaft damn near everytime we went out. He never broke a front axle. It was always a rear axle that would break. Oh and rear driveshafts. If your gonna wheel it the way it is now I would definitely keep a spare rear driveshaft and rear axles. Cause they will most likely be the first things to give out.

Re: well I got another new truck

from the time I drove it, it has a bit of power.

I dont plan on wheeling it much for a while, I am going to figure out some important stuff like the shifter staying on and the blinker lever (its broken) and bring it to the sand dunes and then, I will start something with it.

Re: well I got another new truck

Shit, if its the 4.2 and not the 4 cyl, I wouldnt even bother with an engine swap right now. Just upgrade the axles and lock em up. It will be a very capable little Jeep.

Re: well I got another new truck

Good deal!! Grab a waggy D44 and a Ford 9" out of an early bronco, gear the rear and lincoln lock it. Then gear the front and throw a selectable locker like an ARB or OX locker in it.

Thats what I'd do to it if I had it

So, where do I sign up for this club????

You know, the vehicle of the month?

If you want to haul it, you can have my 77 CJ5 for spare parts for $100.

Cool, hopefully this one will last you a little bit longer than the previous. Looks for a pretty solid start though.
