Re: Welding?
Yeah...there was alot of talkin and jokin around so it was probably more like 7 hours of actual work. Plus Performance Accessories directions are F***ing retarded. They are for a 4WD model. So I just said screw em and threw em in the yard and did it my way. Plus it was my first body lift I had done, but I'm glad it's done.

Re: Welding?
Is there anything in the body lift directions about extending a manual transmission shifter? The shifter in my 98 is short enough already from GM.

Re: Welding?
Yeah, it comes with a 3 inch extender that you have to weld in.

Re: Welding?
Cool, I have heard of the piece that welds into the auto linkage, just never for a stick. I guess if I do end up putting a body lift in I'll fab something up. Fabrication is easy with the right tools and knowledge.

Re: Welding?
fyi, a 94-97 shifter is 11" long, the 98+'s are 8" long..at least in most cases that i've seen, but you should know that already, if you have one of both...or maybe i read your question wrong?

Re: Welding?
Auto trannys require no extending other than the fuel neck. The extender is for manual trannys.
