Wanting 35's.....
so this is my plan. Right now I have a bone stock '96 4.3 2wd s10. My plans are getting as much lift as I can with out going SFA. I will be going with the AIM long arm kit. As well as a body lift. Going to be shooting for the 9"-9.5" lift range. I will be adding a posi-trac rearend to get both wheels spinning, as well as re-gearing the rearend to make up for the bigger tires. This will be strictly a pavement queen. I do zero off-roading and this truck will not see mud. After all it is only a 2wd. My question is will a 35 on a 18" wheel fit without any major problems? I know it may be tight, but like I said the suspension will probably never be maxed out. I have my heart set on 35's but if I must I will run a 33. Thanks for the help.

Re: Wanting 35's.....
Look around here in the liftin it section, there are some guys with some BIG 2wd trucks. They can tell you what will and won't work.

AVtekk had 35's on his SS. I'm sure there's a thread around here somewhere with the details on it.

No need to go SFA if it's 2WD and you're not planning on off-roading it.
Question though, if it's going to be a pavement pounder; why the need for 35's and a limited slip? |

Re: Wanting 35's.....
i would think SFA even when keeping it 2wd, just for the fact that the stock wheel bearings, ball joints and brakes are not really up to the task of the long term with a tire that big. there are plenty of 2wd guys with a SFA, they just never put a t-case in and need no front shaft.

It's just going to be a pavement pounder though, don't the SFA 2WD guys actually abuse their trucks?
