UN-lifting my blazer..

I have a 98 s10 blazer that has a Tmaster lift on it. I want to have the lift removed and just run on my body lift and smaller tires.

would a shop do this? how hard would it be to get the vehicle back to stock suspension specs?

I want the lift taken off because all i do anymore is tow my boat with it and the 33's sort of bog it down when going up hills and pulling it out of the water after it is put on the trailer.

If someone wanted to, i would even let them use my driveway and swap their parts with mine and have a free trailmaster lift...

Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

thats the only way you can do it... becuase with the lift... parts had to be cut off... so the only way your gonna be able to do this is if someone wants the lift and knows how to weld the parts they cut off of their truck and onto yours... good deal for someone tho

Yeah you'll need stock body bolts. I just did the same thing to mine about 2 months ago.

Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

Just get some new gearing for the rear and you'll have a fine rig and im sure it'll tow a bit better with the new gearing.

Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

wide open throttle...wot

i get 12-14 and liek i said i beat on it.. gears will run you around 300-500

and you can hold off and do just the rear but do not put it in 4wd....your transfer case will hate you

but i will tell you out of all the things i did to my blazer the gears made the best difference...and you dont need 4.56 you can go 4.11

Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

i gained mpg when i went from 3.08 to 3.73 on my truck. i have them just in the rear since i never offroad. i just unhooked the cable from the vac ball under my battery. I only sees highway. I average about 16 now on the highway. I have 31 AT on it. Since you pull a boat i would go with 4.56

You will not be able to remove the lift due to the upper control mounts was cut all but off for the brackets to bolt up. I installed mine and it states multiple in the instructions that this is a non-reversible kit. Any attempt to remove will weaken the front suspension mounts and can cause serious injury or death.

Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

Just change the gears, it's your best solution and like they said, it will probably help your mileage.

Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

IMO don't bother changing the gears. You can put 3-500 into gearing and you'll still have a shitty 10-bolt. You can snag an 8.8 from a Ford Explorer with a limited slip and 4.10's for around $200. That's the route I'm going because I don't feel like paying to have someone install my posi carrier.

Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

well ive come up witht he following plan:

Get BL taken off
Get 31s instead of my 33's and sell the 33s
Possibly get gears if still needed.

I found some 31 11.00 15 super swamper LTB's for 130 apiece + 100 shipping, are these good tires? is that a good deal?

What? will become famous soon enough
Re: UN-lifting my blazer..

depends how many miles on the truck, you could sell it for 3k and get another from auction/towing company/police auctions, tweak tbar and shackle, 31s and call it a day

or no tweak tbar and bl along with 31s

otherwise, sell the bl and 33s, get the 31s
