SOA swap

OK so im running 3.5 inch fabtech spindles and 2.5 inch shackles in the rear. I wanna add moog 5664 coils up front and so a SOA in the rear and go back to stock shackles. Do you think this will be a good stance and how hard is the SOA do you just unbolt it all move it to the top and weld it in. Do you need to measure and determine angles?

Thanks
Tony

Re: SOA swap

yep, you will need to re-determin your pinion angle. You would need to ask around to find out what the propper angle is though.

Re: SOA swap

i concur with mbord79. But yeah it was pretty simple. What I did was I did the whole flip added new spring mounts then drove it, not even welded about 6 blocks to the shop....so it can be done, pretty easy to do. after I got it there they aligned the angle and everything for me and welded it on. Just make sure those U bolts are really snug if you plan to drive it not welded like I did.

The toughest part about the whole thing was the rear brake lines thats about it. I detachted the lines right underneath the driver's side door because if you look at your leaf springs and the brake lines.....you'll realise what I am talking about. I think my main problem was I couldn't get the bolt out for the front leaf spring mount to remove the leaf all together because the gas tank was in the way....something like that.....if you run into any problems feel free to PM me, and I will try to help...good luck

Re: SOA swap

When I did my soa, I thought it was easy. The pinion angle isnt hard. The pinion angle has to be 3* less than the output shaft on the trans. Talk to donahue, he helped me a little. The angle pretty much sets its self into place, well at least for me it did.
