Should I start a new project? (lots o pics! old project vs new project)

Hey guys, I've been a member for a while and I used to frequent the forum a lot when I was bagging my S-10. Well I still have it but only drive it on the weekends pretty much. I bought a 89 4x4 Blazer as a daily over a year ago. I fell in love with it and all the places it can take me. Well I am buying another 93 4x4 Blazer next week to use as my new daily so I am going to take my 89 and turn it into my next project. I'll have one bagged and one lifted. I want to go all the way with a SFA and a V8 swap. What do y'all think? Btw here are some pics of my truck and my blazer...

When I 1st got the truck...

1/2 way through...

Finished product...

Actually the front end looks a little different now, just don't have pics.

Here's my 4x4 I bought for $700 as a daily while I was working on the S-10...

Here is what it looks like now...

Here is how I abuse it on the weekends...

And both...

Sorry I don't have any pics of the new Blazer but it is a 93 2door 4x4 that is pearl white.

So what are y'all's ideas for my 89 Blazer? Should I keep the IFS and go with a 5" suspension lift plus 2" body on 33" tires, or should I get rid of all that and go all out with a SFA lifted on 35" tires? Thoughts and opinions on both? Questions? Either way I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty again on a new project soon. Thanks for checking out my thread. If you have myspace fell free to add me, I have some vids and more pics on there... myspace.com/4me2drg

well if you're willing and capable of the fab work then there's no reason not to go SAS... esp if you plan to wheel it

Awesome thanks guys. I'm a welder. I weld all kinds of steel pipe for billboards and underground piping and sewage for 10 hours a day. www.Southlandpipe.net. The fab work will be no problem for me. lol hell yeah I did George... on multiple occasions!

X4 on SAS, especially if you're going to go V8

About $1,500 for the front cause i did everything correctly from changing control arms to new steering linkage, didn't just throw some bags and cups in there and $1,500 for the rear bought new and used parts. That is with no labor I did all the work myself.

Seems like SFA is the way to go, thanks for the opinions.

Thanks man appreciate it. As for having the mechanical know how, I really don't. I know engines mostly. I didn't know anything about bagging a truck but from reading on the forum here I was able to do it no problem. I am a welder so I can fabricate pretty well. I understand how transmissions and axles and steering and suspension and all that works. The person helping me is a certified mechanic and knows way more than I do. We've built railjobs and wheeled all kinds of trucks with different IFS and SFA .Between the two of us and help from the forum we should be able to do it no problem i'm hoping. I've already read some of the other members write ups and they were very helpful such as Donahue's and Baggey's.

Thank you man. They are 18" KMC Stealths which unfortunately they do not make any more. You can buy similar knock offs in other brands though. I had 20" Boss 301's which I traded for the KMC's cause they rode rough...

I knew you had talked about that job, but never heard how things went. Good to hear.

I say fab it up if you got the time and resources. That's why I made so much of my own shit for my truck.
