Receiver Tubes

has anyone made their own receiver tubes. I picked up a couple of them 2" 12" long and im gonna drill and tap them at the shop.n They were $40 at tracter farm supply.
Not a bad price if you can do it yourself.

The only thing i dont want to do is cut a hole in my valancebut I half to.

I want to see some pics of them cut and installed or any how-tos if possible. thanks alot!

you are awsome thats all I was looking for. I will use a razor and take some time.

Do the bolts go the whole way trough the top of the reciver or just the inside.

just the bottom part of the tube.. but i drilled holes for the corners and connected them with the razor... it worked well but if i had to do it again i would use a small air saw

It was either a blazer or an explorer. But from what I remeber, he said it was very easy, and I think it looks pretty cool on a pickup.

Re: Receiver Tubes

I think they look SICK! on pick ups... And I dont think you have to customize... just find a smaller rack. I know they make them.

All you gotta do it cut down the peices that run foward to back on the roof rack. The peices that attach that to the truck itself slide right out, you cut down the long peices and put the mounts back on.

Re: Receiver Tubes

yeah ive got a roof rack off a blazer i was gonna do, im just not sure yet ive already talked to muddubber awhile back, and i belive he has had both the explorer and the blazer, he is currently runnin the blazer but he sent me some pics of a truck with the explorer on it, acctually want the gear rack on top of the regular rack like drmrman has, but its to long and would hang off the back, i think im gonna put a cap on it and then put the racks on that
