Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
You guys are all ridiculous. I actually didn't get the tires on today. A combination of the shop not having time to do them today AND me working all day today and yesterday didn't help either. I'm shooting to get them done Monday or Wednesday.
Tomorrow I plan to get some if not all the shocks mounted and get the drive shaft back into place. If that happens I'll take it for a test drive WITH shocks. Whatever progress made tomorrow will be digitally archived and shared with the s10forum community. |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
Heck I bought my new tires and had them installed all in one afternoon...I now have brand new 33x13.50 Super Swamper TSL's on my truck...same ones I had already except they have tread on them!

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
Well if my tires came to me in one day I would have had them put on too. But they came different days! When I got the third and fourth I had work, and have had it since.

Mount 'em yourself, all you need is about 30 flathead screwdrivers and a BFH

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
Update: So I didn't get into the garage today because the guys that actually own it needed it. But I wasn't completely useless. I went and got my front drive shaft today, so I should be able to get that in as soon as my crossmember gets customized. Tomorrow I plan to move the rear axle forward and get the rear drive shaft back in.

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
I actually haven't decided what I'm doing yet. I was looking at it today and my options are somewhat limited. There is alot of crap in the way.
My list of stuff to complete is as follows: 1. Mount shocks (waiting for F250 shock towers to come in) 2. Tranny cross member 3. Reroute exhaust 4. Put a CV joint on rear drive shaft 5. Change out front output shaft to accept Jeep drive shaft 6. Tires 7. WHEEL |

LMK if you need me to head up there with my welder to see if we can do something about your exhaust.

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
I don't think that'll be necessary for a little while. The exhaust is one of the last things on my list. Shocks and rear drive shaft is first. The whole front drive train is the last of my worries. I'll get some pictures so you can see what needs to be done.

Mounting 8" tires are a bitch and a half. Mounting a 34 would be easy as pie. |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
I've never mounted my own tires before. Chris you could come help me and take that spare 33 with you
Then you could help me figure out my tranny Xmember and some other welding things I need. |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
Shit, I haven't mounted my own fullsize tire in a few years... It could be a fun experience!
Hey, if I put ONE 33 on my truck, you think I can get 1/4th further down the trials that my 31's don't like? ![]() |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
I think your problem isn't that your tires aren't big enough. I think it's more that they are bald ass A/Ts. Plus my 33s don't have much tread on them, but they're great spares.

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
my advice to you if you guys do decide to do the swap is to take your time, do your research, and do it right the first time.
Once you get really close to finished (like I am) the project will basically "nickel and dime" you to death. All I need to finish my project is a few small parts, and it's a pain in the ass waiting for them. So do better than I did and get ALL your parts (and maybe some extras) BEFORE the build. |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
I can't do any work on the truck for two reasons. One I'm waiting for parts to come, and two finals week starts tomorrow so I have other stuff that needs to happen before the truck.
Once work begins again I'll get some pictures |
