Wow you all got busy today. I appreciate everyone's concern for my safety in rolling the truck over. I do plan on putting slightly longer shackles on it to get a better angle, I just had the stock ones so I just used them to save a little money for the time being. I'm thinking like 1-1.5" over stock, anyone have suggestions?
And yes tfpets there IS a bushing in the shackle hangers. Those are shackle mounts from SKY. |

Those shackles would work, I put 3 inch drop shackles for a 1/2 ton chevy. they work great. i had the same extreme shackle angle you have and as soon as i put the longer ones on there, it corrected the problem.

Now with that said, you can obviously tell where the shocks run into coil buckets. So I know Tim did a PTO drive shaft for his swap, what did/are other people doing? I'm hoping to get this done by the end of the month so that when "mud season" starts I'll be ready.

You need to wander out my way, the Connecticut river floods into all the local farm fields. Makes for some fun water fording and mud slinging fun! When I first got my truck I went through a farm field so full of water that it was coming over the hood. I was surprised I didn't hydrolock the engine with the ghetto air filter and stock fan setup Had to go through it to get to the mud - it was hella fun. My brother tried in his Cherokee and got stuck the day before when there was less water. He attempted to that day but it wouldn't make it far enough. baggey: ![]() ![]() ![]() My front shaft is basically a modified jeep front shaft. It has 1310 u joints like a jeep, but i had my driveshaft guy build it with .120" wall tubing and he put a full size bronco slip yoke in there. it extends out a little more than the jeep unit. And my shackles are 6.5" long bolt center to bolt center. Like i said i used chevy lowering shackles and lopped the bottom set of holes off so they are not quite as long as they could have been. as far as how much longer, just measure the ones you have and note the difference. |

I had the same drive shaft you do Tim. How did you get it out of the T case? Mine wouldn't come out easily so we just cut it and said "F it I'll do it later"

smack it with a hammer, it has a retaining clip in it. it will eventually come off. i then threw the clip away
