well theres a hole by my house that i know i can make in 2wd... and a lil more skinny pedal.

what really truly sucks is that the cv is too far gone to be covered under the lifetime waranty i had on it... so after droppin $500+ on tires, inspection, and other odds and ends i surely wont be able to afford a new cv anytime soon. really pisses me off cuz its right before the RC ride that we've been planning all year

Re: Post Pics of Your Lifted Ride!

rear is still in there... wish it was a lil easier on the tires but it sure is nice in the woods. posi-lok is still sittin in my shed back home. work on the truck has been slow for the past year or so since i've moved up to my apt at school. hopefully the next time i go in i'll have some time and money to replace my cv, hopefully get the posi-lok installed, and get my sunpro guage cluster all hooked up!

Re: Post Pics of Your Lifted Ride!

Thats what made me go SFA. I tore a CV boot and after putting one of those $30 Redi Boots on I decided that the IFS needed to go.

thanks man! yes the rust is gettin bad... but i've just gotten sick of chasing it so i gave up after this winter. unfortunately the white paint that so neatly hides all the scratches fails to hide rust. it's crossed my mind a time or two to paint it black so the rust isnt such an eye sore!

as for cv's...normally when you see grease flung up in your fender well it means that it's only a short while before your cv begins to shit the bed. clicking in the front end means it's time to replace and posibly get it covered under warranty if you ahve a lifetime warranty on the cv. unfortunately i waited too long to get mine covered under warranty and after one good hard day of mudding... my cv locked up on the road and nearly sent the truck off the road. i crawl under only to peel the boot back and watch all the innards fall onto the pavement. now the shaft doesnt even spin with the wheel

and yes.... SAS is the way... now i just need a means of affording it and doing it with the limited time and tools that i have right now wrecked and baggey... you guys should come up my apt with your goodies and help me get some real axles under it!!!

I hate those things. I'm just waiting for my drivers side CV to grenade and I'm replacing the whole shaft. Not worth replacing the boot again, expecially with one of those junk split boots.

Re: Post Pics of Your Lifted Ride!

i'll add some pics of the old toy and then some of the new one. so first off heres the 85 blazer that i had. 2.8 with 5-speed and 4.88 gears. solid axle swap with dana 44 hp front and 9" rear. about 20" lift or so total over stock. 38.5x16x16.5 swampers. front and rear custom bumpers and a hi-lift jack mount on the tailgate.

i sold that and decided to build another 4x4 since its so much fun to break them.... anyway its a 1979 ford f250. big block with granny 4 speed and 205 transfercase. 99 superduty procomp 6.5" lift front leafs and sky manufaturing 4.5" shackle flip on the rear. total lift is about 10" or so. 38x12.50 swampers on rockrawler wheels. i know its a ford but you cant beat these old ford trucks they last forever. besides i gotta have a ford for all my chevy buddies that get stuck. nothin like throwing salt in an open wounds. im j/k guys i miss the blazer but the fords fun to beat on.

nah, its right about there. of course i am just talking the suspension. when i got to the trail, i had to lift the rear 2" more inches just from the weight of the camping gear and tools. now my adjustable coil mounts are maxed out. these jeep springs are soft.

i'm talking about XJ front coils. i will probably end up killing them in the long run. but they flex soooo good.

ZJ coils with the V8 might be a good spring to swap in

perhaps. i am also considering a taller spring altogether, perhaps a lift spring so i can gain more adjustability back.

Heres some better pics of my rust 95. I Put a free 3in body lift in yesterday all i needed to buy was bolts. It has used flea market buy off brand 31in M/Ts. Im going to build some custom bumpers next. Its not as nice as some of the trucks on here but i havent got shit for money so everthing is on the cheap. I put the blazer lights in a few weeks back.

yeah the ZJ coils are the same exact height, just wont sag as much because of the spring rate. Maybe try a lift coil for jeep if your set up for that type of coil, ive found them at the junkyard before. Maybe a acos adjustable coil spacer is more adjustable, not sure your set up.

a coil spacer wouldnt work for me, because of the way my spring is captured.

i suppose you could build something, say a piece of solid stock or tube threaded on the outside, and had a ring that threaded over it that you could spin up or down the shaft and have a insert pin or something to lock the threaded piece at new height. Very similar to adjustable coils you see around.

you need to upload images to an online sever before you can use the IMG command. you can "attach" images from your computer.
