2wd s10 lift

I know there are a ton of threads i can find this info from but i dont have time to search for them. I want to know everything i need to lift my 2wd s10 5 in. plus body lift, with links and prices to everything you are telling me.
What im thinking= 2 in. coils 3 in. spindles bds axle flip kit and 2 in. body lift. Whats the biggest tire i can run also? im gonna guess like a 31, its not gonna be used for off road use much, go ahead bash it but i want a lifted truck and my s10 is all i can afford right now. Do they make an add a leaf kit for a 2wd s10? Cause it will be used to tow my trailer with quads.

Re: 2wd s10 lift

I read that local12hand has about 9 in. lift well what all dose he have for his lift? if i could do that i would so that, the bigger the better. Tell me everything i need to know to get the most lift, i originally thought that 5 in. was the biggest you could go but now i know you can go bigger so why not go that route.

Re: 2wd s10 lift

he has a long arm kit. Aim makes on and CST makes one. I had 31's on my 5" lift and rubbed a little bit but not much. AAL for S10's are universal between first gen and second gen, 4x4 and 4x2.

The only link I can get to you is a body lift (on ebay)
http://search.ebay.com/search/search... ift&category0=

I dont know links for anything else though.

Re: 2wd s10 lift

Im trying to find a link for the aim long travel kit but cant seem to find one. Also dose cst sell the axle flip kit separately? I cant find just the flip kit on there site. I aslo want to get the 3/4 ton suburban coils to get the little extra lift you get out of them, how much are they at like a local parts store, and is that for a pair or separately?

After this week i will be getting paid and it will be enough to have all the body work and paint done from m buddy. I will try to get pics of it as it is now, dropped 3/4

I obviously am or i wouldn't be coming across this info that i am asking questions about, but nobody wants to help me out.

Dose aim still make a long arm kit for the s10, i cant find one on there website. I also cant find just the flip kit from cst, if i were to call them would they sell me it separately?

Re: 2wd s10 lift

ok here is my list of parts that i want to get

Aim long travel kit
Aim 3" spindles
steel braided brake lines
3/4 ton suburban springs
suburban shocks
summit axle perches=axle flip

I also have a few question id like to ask so i can avoid breaking things
1. Can you get uniball at local parts stores, or summit? do they come with tapered pins?
2.I have herd bad things about aim bushings, can you get good ones at a local parts store?
3.The springs at autozone $80.00 is that for 2 springs or just 1, in the picture it shows 2 but doesn't have a description.
4. I read you can use the suburban shocks also, is this true?

Re: 2wd s10 lift

I didn't bitch anyone out, i was just stating that i am doing research and i have a few simple questions that need to be answered. I am going with AIM because i don't feel like spending a ton on just one thing, all Im getting from them is the long arm kit and spindles.

Re: 2wd s10 lift

DrptS10,
AIM goes by "chassistech.com and or truckinsuspension.com". They make a good product and i have seen it tested in the dezert. Yes there has been issues with thier customer service and that is thier downfall. It is a good kit though. There are upgrades you need for that kit though. Shitcan thier bushings and go to bajacustoms.com and get delrin bushings, a little pricey but will last forever. If I am not mistaking the AIM LT kit comes with spindles and springs. Why do you want suburban springs? You can also get uniballs from baja customs, but they just don't snap in!! you have to modify the BJ openings of your spindle and welder them in place. Not something that I would suggest a novice weld to tackle at least not on my dime. you can go with CST and get good bushing and uniballs, but it is alot more $$ for that kit, that is basically the same as AIM LT. I agree with Derek, go to
www.dezertdimes.com. They deal with a lot of LT shit.
I hope this helps you out.

Re: 2wd s10 lift

yeah give the guy a break. He is just starting. You need to read through Red Barons thread and it will answer alot of your questions. . Your going to spend alot. Depending on how high your going. Figure out how high you want and then I think we can help you, or what size tire you want to run.

Re: 2wd s10 lift

Thanks for the info guys, Trust me i think the truck is ugly myself. But thank god i have a friend that went to school for auto collision repair, and said he would do the body work and paint for me for 500. I would like a stance like Local12hand has on his truck, plus a 2 in. body lift so i wont have to trim as much. I also want to get and all terrain tire thats a 33, looking for something cheaper butt still good performance, I will prolly go with BFGoodrich. My truck wont seem heavy off road but mild as i will be using it for construction work (rough framing).

Re: 2wd s10 lift

I also dont think the AIM kit comes with spindles, Butt i will buy those at the same time i buy the LT Kit. BTW i will take the uca to my dads buddies machine shop and have he do the work for the uniballs. Is there a place the sell uniballs that arent tapered, i could have him machine the spindles also, if it would be cheaper that way?

Don't use 3/4 ton suburban springs! use 1/2 ton springs

Re: 2wd s10 lift

Thats why it gives you more lift, they are the same height as lift coils, but they are stiffer so it give you more lift from them.

I have the coils that red baron and local used. Part number FCS648V....and they ride, from what I can remember, like stock. You can pick them up at Auto zone for around $85.

Im not spending that much money to lift my truck just in the front when i can get a cheaper kit, that with a few mods will be just as good as the expensive kits.

Fabtech no longer make control arm lifts for S-10's. They discontinued thier SA and LT kits. The most they offer is a spindle lift. You might be able to find a used Fabtech LT kit (www.dezertrangers.com) somewhere but definitely stay away from thier SA, it absolutely sucks!!!

Re: 2wd s10 lift

Well i got some work done to the s10. Not lift wise but tearing it apart yes, because the body work and paint comes before the lift. haha The whole front end is tore off, bed is off, doors are gonna come off(tomorrow). Also I got a key less entry plus remote start for it, coming in the mail will be the power window switch kit and power door lock switch kit, I got door from the JY with power everything butt i didnt feel like using the mess of wire that were there so i got those switch kits, also im not gonna be running power mirrors cause I dont want to spend a fortune on mirrors.

Re: 2wd s10 lift

without spending so much money, you can go with 2" coil, 3"spindle, 2" body lift, summit racing leaf perch to weld so itll put leaf over axle, should be level with the front, alignment, call it a day, then figure out the wheels and tires to go with, however you can fit bigger than 31s, no more than 33s

if you want to invest for more lift, then go with bajacustoms or gmachine, both are great to deal with and $ well worth it
