VERY annoying engaged clutch squeak...

There's a very loud squeak and a barely audible "rattle" when I let out on the clutch and engage it. It doesn't have to be in gear, as long as my clutch is engaged the squeaking is going to happen, the second I disengage my clutch the squeak goes away, it's also in line with engine speed, i rev the engine the squeaks speed up. I'm thinking it's the throwout bearing...

Re: VERY annoying engaged clutch squeak...

i was going to say throwout bearing. the squeak would go away in my old truck if i would lightly rest my foot on the clutch pedal

Re: VERY annoying engaged clutch squeak...

if the sound is audible when....

engaged= input bearing (in front of transmission)

disengaged at rest (especially in gear but stopped) = pilot bearing (in flywheel)

only when pedal fully or partially depressed= throwout bearing

take it from a guy who has trouble with all 3. lol

as s10 forum says, use jig-a-loo spray, it stops squeaks.
