Trouble shooting..

Hi,

I have a 99 s10 2.2 that runs pretty darn good until i get past 60 mph and then when i try to stay at any speed above 60 the rpms will get real high. I dont lose any power from the tranny just the enginges rpms jump up about a 1000. Any suggestions i might be able to solve this before having to take in and have them do a diagnostics?

Tranny fluid doesnt smell burnt, i have a trouble code reader and it says that the o2 sensor is ok so i dont think that its catalytic converter. Could it be the torque converter? and how would i test this?

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks
