transmission mount?

I'm in the process of getting my driveline angles fixed. I took the angle of the trans which was 8* down, and the pinion 6* up. I went to double check my angles today, the truck is still on level ground, and now the trans is 4*up and pinion 6* up. So i rolled it back a foot or two and then trans is pointing down again.

Is this a bad trans mount? what should I look for when I check the trans mount? any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Re: transmission mount?

take a large pry bar, and pry up on the trans. or jack up the trans with a jack. look at the mount while doing so. it should stay in one piece. if it looks like the rubber is seperating from the steel = trans mount is bad.
