T5 into 88 s10?

Hello,
I currently have a nv3500 5spd in my v8 88 s10, but it broke, surprise surprise. I want to put a t5 in! will it fit right in or will I need any new parts such as fly wheel, clutch etc.... Some guy in OH is selling a tail shaft peice which he says you need to do the swap. Is that true?

I want to strongly suggest not to use a T5, I have been told there not strong at all. If you do a google search on the T5 you will learn alot about them. The NV3500 is a far better transmission. I suggest you look for another one. It would be cheaper to replace what you already have. Good luck

a t-5 will bolt in if it's got the small block bell housing look for one out of a later model 3rd gen camaro or firebird or a full size t-5 even and as far as t-5's bein weak i ain't buyin it,and i bet all the guys with 10 second fox body stangs ain't buyin it either lol. and as far as that tail shaft housing dudes sellin the only time i've ever heard anything about the need to swap that is when u need to run a cable drive speedo cuz early non world class t-5's had cable driven speedos and the later ones are eletronic.stay away from the non world class t-5's those are the weak ones

I'm running a WC T-5 out of an '89 IROC that I've got hooked up to a 350 in my truck and I haven't had any problems yet. I ran this set up all summer and had some fun with it too. I'm just shy of 300hp but I've heard these trannys don't like much more hp than that.

twisted i did look them up, i thought the t5 out of a camaro was the strongest one.
