Rear Seal?

Hey guys,
I have a 1991 s10 2.5l with the 5speed and the tranny has been leaking out of the back due to a bad seal. I have been looking for a new seal but there are so many seals i dont know what its called. Is it called the input shaft seal? output shaft seal? driveshaft seal? main shaft seal? I know that its the seal at the back of the tranny where the drive shaft connects into. There are so many names i dont know what to buy what do yall think it is called?
Thanks

Re: Rear Seal?

go to the parts store and say it's the seal where the driveshaft comes out of the transmission. if they don't know what it's called, go to another parts store because they're incompetent.

Re: Rear Seal?

You got it right...it's just a rear seal for the transmission.

Re: Rear Seal?

Kind of old thread, but at autozone, it's listed as a transmission output shaft seal, I think.
