NV3500 Install Help...
I have a 1977 SBC 355 that is a 2 piece rear main seal block, I am going to install a NV3500, and I need to know what flywheel to use. Will any two piece rear main seal flywheel work? Thanks

Re: NV3500 Install Help...
I bought a flywheel for a 70s model camaro (dont remeber the exact year). I do know it was a 153 tooth flywheel with a 10.4 disc surface. I ordered a clutch kit from summitracing. It was zoom brand and it only cost me like 95$ before shipping. If you need me to im me and Ill look up the part numbers on both.

Ok so today I just bought the same exact motor, 77' 355. Unfortunatly I did not do all of my homework. I've spent the past 7 hours trolling through forums trying to find the answer to this other than the almost $400 flywheel that summit sells to adapt this. I've seen about 30 other threads about this but not one with a solution!!! Pls someone help! I can't bring myself to cough up that ammount of money on a metal disc with a toothed edge! I don't know why this hasent been answered the nv3500 seems like a common manual trans to use for this and I'm sure we aren't the only ones using the 2 peice rear main blocks. I've already pm'd the guy above but it would be great if we could get this solution on the boards for future reference for others. Idk maybe I'm just a fool and the answer is right infront of me but either way I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks guys.

what does the rear main seal have to do with the flywheel? couldnt you just use a 4.3 flywheel?

Re: NV3500 Install Help...
NO, because the mounting area on the crank is different.
I was told you can use a stock 168 tooth flywheel, and then use the clutch and pressure plate for the NV3500. Not sure if that is true, But im about to order it and see if it will bolt up. If anyone does know if this wont work, please let me know ASAP. Thanks Advanced Adapters sent this to me: David You need a factory 168 tooth truck flywheel that matches the engine. You will be required to use the 1996-2004 s-10 clutch. This will bolt right up to the older flywheel. Did this trans come from a 4.8L v-8 or 4.3L v-6? You will also need to reuse the factory hydraulics from the donor truck. Hope this helps. Re: NV3500 Install Help...
summit or ebay I think the part number is 50-6504 zoom product. 100.00 i think Its a 2pc rear main seal and its 168 tooth flywheel. I called a tech and asked if it will work. It also has 11" clutch surface. I am getting ready to do this. I searched all hell and back for this flywheel.
