Is this the kit I need for my 4l60e

I have the common problem on my blazer that when driving for over 30 minutes it starts to shift hard from first to second and going on ebay I found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4L60E...spagenameZWD1V Is this what I need to correct this problem for good and has anyone used it. If so I am getting it. I am tired of the hard shifts.

Re: Is this the kit I need for my 4l60e

okay.

basic parts list for the shift kit are:

shift kit
filter kit, get the fiber pan gasket for the 4l60e trans, dont use cork.
8 quarts of new fluid
a blue and a red servo cover o-ring, most part stores do NOT carry o-rings this size.
valvebody gaskets. aftermarket ones cover all years from 93 till 2002, and from 2002 up are different.

tools needed.

13 mm
10 mm
8 mm
all good quality sockets, if you strip a valvebody bolt, you will wish you used good quality stuff.
a speed ratched, or a t-handle.
a torque wrench for the valvebody bolts is preferred, but you can snug them one handed and get close.
a prybar
a hammer
a good paperclip assortment
a dental pick, or a pocet screwdriver.
a cordless drill
and a few cans of brake cleaner.
an old ice cube tray also comes in handy.
and LINT FREE towels.
most importantly, good lighting and a clean area for vb work.
you also need a grinder, or something to grind or cut steel.
and a drain pan.

Re: Is this the kit I need for my 4l60e

I talked to a local shop and there going to install this kit for me. He said he only endorses the transgo kit and has installed them on over 400 4l60es so I feel good about them doing it and with a full flush and filter trasngo kit and other minor things its only costing me 400 which I didnt think was to bad.

ok got the kit installed and the hard shifting is gone. But the shifts seem to tka e abit longer now, is this normal. Also I floored it getting on the highway and it will not shift into 3rd while floored going up to 75 or so. What does this mean, didnt do that before. I really dont know about the shifting feels really weird from before.

Re: Is this the kit I need for my 4l60e

ok so I took it for a drive today and everything is perfect, shifted fine getting on the highway, went into tcc lockup and everything. No hard shifting. I am going to get more miles on it like the shop said, he said that after a while the shifts will start to firm up from where they were when I got it back. So I guess maybe thats whats happening.
