Re: Help

If it was a T5 I could tell you. I don't know what transmission you have, so I can't help.

Re: Help

If it was a T5 then you would probably have a broken roll pin on the shift linkage or the end of the shifter might be broke off. The shifter has 4 bolts that hold it on the top of the transmission. You can remove these bolts and take the shifter out to inspect it. The roll pin goes through the steel block that the shifter ball fits in. It connects the block to the shaft.

Re: Help

You need to find out what transmission you have. If it's a T5 I have a bunch of those blocks. If it's something else then you probably need to go to the GM dealer and see if you can get a new one. I don't think I'd try to weld it. They are heat threated steel.

Venture series transmissions were found in 93 and newer. If you say, "T5" the truck transmissions are entirely different from the ones in cars so be sure to specify to a shop. And by block do you mean the casing? If any part inside or outside of the casing is cracked or broken I would def. put my money in a new transmission not welding up the one you got unless it is VERY minor.

Re: Help

That looks bad. This is a transmission that I'm not familiar with, so I'm not going to be any help to you. If it was a T5 then I could help, but it's not. Sorry.

Re: Help

if it is an UNMODIFIED drivetrain then this trans should be the NV3500 if i have been reading right for this year.the last year for the T5 was 94 I think but it might have been 95 as well i am still learning bout the 2nd gen trucks. dont really know what to tell you to help with this problem other then replacing the transmission. inwhich if i were you i would go ahead and switch it to a T5

Re: Help

The T5 was a stock option only for the 94-95 2.2 litre 4 cyl. All the 4.3 V6's in the 2nd gen truck were NV3500. Those picks look a lot like my NV1500 which I understand is just a weaker version of the NV3500.
