auto 4x4 blazer tranny removal

1991 s10 blazer 4.3 4x4 automatic transmission removal. from what ive read and how it looks im gonna have to remove the y-pipe and the transfer case crossmember. But Im not sure if it would be best to remove the transfer case first and then the tranny or both at the same time? I read its best to do them both at the same time on a 5sp but wasnt sure about an automatic. Thanks for the help

I find it easier to remove the t-case and then remove the tranny. It just makes it easier to handle. Plus you can replace the rear seal on the trans and the gasket just to be safe.

thanks! makes sense to me. also, anybody know if there is any difference between a 2wd & 4wd auto tranny. I found an 89 s10 4.3 with a good transmission i can buy for 200. but its 2wd and didnt know if it would work on my blazer. thanks again for the help.
