84 s15 th700r problems

i have an 84 s15 4x4,2.8 v6,auto.the trannys hooped and are hard to come by.can i take a newer 700 and install the 4x4 transfer case?

as long as it is a 4X4 transmission you can interchange through the years of a 700r4. BUT, you need the cable speedo input on your specific trans unless it has been upgraded already.
