yes it can be done, but complete disassembly will need to be performed since the rear output shafts are totally different.

Yup, you will have to tear it apart.
Im not sure on these transmissions but the 700r4's had reinforced cases also for the 4x4s and it would be smart to stick with the same kind of case |
