1991 Chevy S10 Trans Problem

Hey Guys,
New to the forum here. But I was wondering If someone could help me figure out the noise coming from my transmission in my 91' S10 has a 2.8 with a borg 5 speed manual. Now the noise is like a cycling whinning noise, and it only happens when it is warmer out, but here is the the kicker, the noise start around 2,500 rpm in second and coutinues through 3, 4, and 5th gear, and once its moving, and the noise starts it doesn't stop until the truck has come to a complete stop or at least under 10mph, whether in gear or not or with the clutch in or out, it still makes noise until your at a stop. Throw-out bearing and pilot bushing were both replaced when I changed out the orgininal trans. Truck has just over 180,000 miles on it.

Thanks Much,

Re: 1991 Chevy S10 Trans Problem

sounds like a worn mainshaft bearing.
Just take the tailhousing off, and pull the mainshaft out to change the bearing.
Might as well change the rest whilst your in there.
