who can still spin the tires with bags and a 4 link?

maybe this thread will help me..... all i have to say is wheel hop sucks lol..... what kind of link setup do you have if so? i have a 98 ext. cab. lt1/ 6spd. with 8.5" rear

I get no wheel hop. but probly because lack of power lol

i have a SD 3 link with BOA, and a 2wd blazer rearend... the 3:42's with G80 limited slip. I can light the tires up and I get zero wheel hop... i have a 4.3L btw.

there are bolt on and weld on versions of the SD 3/5 link. just check out their website.

it all depends on how it's setup, ya gotta think 4 links are the optimal suspensions for hot rods with alot of power. depends on how you have it set up for anti-squat, roll steer, and what shocks your running

i have no wheel hop, sd 3 link with re8s behind and under, i can burn em down even with a 2.2

i don't have any wheel hoop but with the 22", limited slip, 3:73 and 4.3 and upgraded rear disk brakes they dont like to spin lol

can i do a 3 link without a notch? might sound dumb, but my frame isnt notched, and it sits right on my body kit

i started with the sd weld on 3link and now have the 5link, and 4.3 xcab, and i can spin tires and 0 wheel hop...

your question about the notch if you dont notch where are you going to mount the bags??usually you need the notch to mount bars and bag brackets..i could be wrong

I've seen plenty of trucks with the 3 link not notched, and with behind and under the bags and all were under bed

you don't need to notch to run a link. like slamblacksdime said it makes things alot easier with a notch as far as bag placement but if you do a search you'll find a lot of trucks with no notch and bags over or behind. i'm planning on running a 5-link with no notch for awhile. 5-link puts the bags on the bars so notch or no notch the bags are going to be placed the same. i just won't lay our in the rear until i do notch it.

ohhh and by the way.. i wouldnt reccomend doing minute long burnouts too much. I still have rubber stuck to my wheel tubs and it cost me a new set of tires out back..

haha, i used to do that stuff, but i dont really anymore.... im just concerned cuz having an lt1, w/ ported heads, cam, & bolt-ons is a waste if you bounce down the street if you hit the throttle

With a V8 and a 3 link setup you will be able to burn them down. If it were me I wouldn't want my truck to spin tires that easily. No traction means less power to the ground. I hear kids sometimes say how they want their car to be so fast that they can spin the tires down the street. I tell them that you can do that with a 4 cylinder and bald tires on a stock pickup since there is no weight in the bed. I'd rather have it to where spinning the tires requires a line lock and LOTS of gas. I like to go fast, not burn tires. That is just my oppinion though, I know that sometimes everyone likes to show off now and then and smoke them down so I see where your comming from.

ur not getting my point at all..... hopping= breaking stuff+ going no where...... if i can get them to spin, ill figure out traction.... trust me, id be going faster spinning than i am slamming on the brakes before i blow the rear

stay away from cando/kp 4/6 links if you don't want wheel hop. mine got serious wheel hop until i made custom weld-on axle brackets.

i have a custom triangulated 4-link. I get wheel hop sometimes, but its in POOR conditions. I can drop the clutch and burn both on a regular basis with no hop. I have a 4.3 5-speed with a 8.625 diff, 3.73 gears and G80. I may not be putting as much power to the ground, but i'm pushing a little.

Do u mean u made the axle brackets weld-on and it works? on a reverse 4?

those aren't reverse kits. You will have nothing but problems with anything reverse if you're actually trying to put power to the ground.

In my opinion, kits in general are not the way to go for any specific need for suspension other then going up/down. If you want performance, custom is the way to go.

yeah, i've got no problem doing a burn out, i've got a custom wishbone 3 link, no bolt in crap, i can lay it out and do burn outs til the tires pop, on 20's at that
