Ive got the same, i dont really care for it just for the fact that it uses the stock leaf spring perches, which are quick to drag off. but other than that its a good setup, like cory mentioned, rides great, and should deffinatly box the frame and brace the upper bag plates, my frame ended up bending over time from not boxining it in. also gets decent lift with re-6's. no axle walk either.

Do you have pics of where your shocks are mounted at to get that lift? And also how your bags are mounted to the frame and bars

I built my 2link exactly like the ssc kit but I did boa and it rides like crap so I'm doing the bag on bar like the kit. Can you still get to your bed bolts in front of the tire looks to melike I would have to cut that mount off

if i may thread jack for a moment, how is there not a ton of side to side movement in the rear and with a 2 link? doesnt appear to me to have anything locating the axle left to right?

Re: Silver star customs 2 link

I do believe there is a lanyard bar.

if that's your bag mounts you won't be able to put the bed bolt in with a fully collapsed bag in there. bags are like 6in around and those bag mount look to be like 2-3in.

There's only bushings on the front not the rear and mine is welded to the rear end so the rearend acts as the cross bar

So I should mount the plates just like that? So the bag is collapsed flat then when it lifts it curves with the bar correct

idk, it looks to me that you won't lay out if you put the bag there. dom25s are 3" collapsed... is there 3"+ between your bar and frame after you put bag plates in there?

so the only thing that keeps you rear end located is hoping the bushing dont give and let it "sway" side to side?

Re: Silver star customs 2 link

I have a bar welded across between the 2 link bars under the universal joint that keeps it from moving side to side. It rides a little rough compared to a 3 or 4 link because there is no articulation with the 2 link.

Re: Silver star customs 2 link

So your 2 link bars are welded together?

In order to keep your axle from moving side to side you have to have the pan hard bar connected to the frame then to the axle. Welding the 2 bottom link bars together does nothing to center the axle.

Also those bushings will give quite a bit op. I would put a bar in there. If anyone told you it's ok like that there wrong.

So far I've had no problems with the axel staying centered and it's been 6 months. Is the panhard just for when the bushings wear out?

Re: Silver star customs 2 link

The pan hard bar keeps the axle centered left to right, and keeps your track straight. I was thinking that a 2 link was bad apples, until you throw in a pan hard, but I guess it's
Ike reverse 4 links. To each their own.

Re: Silver star customs 2 link

If all you have is bushings holding it center you have movement. It may not be a lot but there is some. So those bushings will wear out twice as fast then you will be really ****ed when you get a tear in one of them. Watts links are pretty bad ass. Either way I would put a panhard bar or a watts link or something to go from axle to frame.

Semi's have what they call dogbones. Some of them have what looks like upper 4link bars(peterbilts mostly) some macks and Kenny's have the bar going from front to back to hold the top of the axle in place. However some of them do have a bar going side to side.

do some mocking up, tack some bag mounts in place and measure it. I can say use something equivalent to a 2500 but that's just assuming the space you have, and you know what assuming does.

Buddies truck has ssc 2 link and I think it works well. Have to run a 2500# bag on the back or tire rubs it. It rides ok I guess, it never gets driven except on the trailer and off. Gets lots of lift, no side to side at all

at lift, i would be shocked if it had no horizontal movement at all. even with new bushings, my c10 swayed before i got the new panhard made.

Re: Silver star customs 2 link

I have have the same 2 link that silver star sells on my 91 s10, I'm running my shocks in stock location and my rear bags are airlift Dom 2500's that are mounted to the outside of bars and outside of the frame rail in front of rear tires. I get close to 13" of lift. I'm not running a pan hard bar at all Been bagged daily for 3 years now with NO problems! I drive low, drag, drive it full lift problems, play or sway or side to side movement in the rear end.
