I know this doesn't usually end up happening on bagged trucks, but it can. The top example in this picture is actually bad for the u joints. There is no operating angles so they're not moving like they're supposed to, to lubricate the needle bearings properly.

I do agree with you, that if the u joints are totally inline with each other (both elevation and plan), it would be bad. But I believe this image only references either elevation or plan

drive shaft does lay on the cab, but it drops just as much as i'd like it to.
i still plan on tubbing the cab a little just t not have that strain on the driveshaft.

Re: Project Redo My Old Backhalf

yeah mines not on it too hard. actually my differential bracket touches my notch crossmember when layed out. which i am ok with too, because it's less than a half inch from the bags bottoming out. and i like that it bottoms out there that on the bags.

Re: Project Redo My Old Backhalf

truck has no a/c. sucks but works out good for tubbing. also the truck is a 95 4.3L TBI. Has alot less under the hood than an EFI. i relocated my coolant overflow and removed my ABS already. my only real concern is the wiring harnes on the driver side, but i have some ideas.

Re: Project Redo My Old Backhalf

that easy pull it back into the cab... cut out the bracket and move it up or to the side of the firewall... with the abs gone and no a/c you will not have many problems...

Lifting does tend to be easier.

As for no air leaks mine has one right now. Then again all it effects is my horn and I can't air up a tire right off the bat. Doesn't leave me stranded on the frame waiting on tanks to fill, lol.

i plan on tubbing it soon. this setup for the valves is 13"x21". it's gonna go directly behind the passenger seat where the jack used to be, so it wont be in the way of the driveshaft at all.

Re: Project Redo My Old Backhalf

i used stainless on a good bit of it. the rest is just airbrake line running into the cab.
i ordered the tubing from McRandal Fluid in Creighton. it was around $2.70ft which was an awesome deal. it's .049 wall and other places i shopped had .035 wall for $5ft

he also make hydraulic hoses and stainless braided

because i just can't be normal>>> http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f125/p...ckhalf-488914/
