it would be cool, but it's just not me. i like to keep the exterior pretty origional looking. only thing i shaved was the tailgate and bumper. i'm not one for overdoing it.
my notch i have now matches the origional bed lines but i might make it so it's removable.

here's some pics of day 3, not too many. mainly alot of cleaning nd figuring things out like the pinion angle which i feel i still have wrong.

front still doesn't lay due to i still run my inner fenders. but it'll go soon.
figuring out the brackets on the axle was a bitch, but they are all tacked. tomorrow i'll finish welding them up, than try to figure my pinion.

Yeah i know there are plenty of threads on here that will tell you how to set the pinion, if i remember correctly, all u need is an angle finder from the local hardware store and just set it up at +/- 5* at ride height.

I was looking at sd's 3 link install and they are saying the tranny is -4 and to set the pinion at +2 or +3

no new pics. just been cleaning the frame and rearend. got the rearend welded up and painted last night. backhalfs all torn down for powdercoat and paint. hopefully be back together tomorrow or saturday. doubt i'll get to the plumbing yet. still don't know where the airtank is going.

Great work man.. your welds look perfect! Digging that plate crossmember between the notch. Look forward to how you set up your bed. Such a shame to hide that work under there.

Here's some updates

got my links back from powdercoat




it's called "black chrome"
i thought it would be blacker?
more of a charcoal gray, but i still think it looks really sweet.




got the mounts for my rear bed bolts on



all primered up




my axle is welded up, painted, bushings and grease fittings installed, and lsoh's rear disc's on. anybody else with these brakes? my brake hose is pressed against my housing pretty hard. wasn't sure if that was normal.



went a little overkill on the paint for the rearend. whole lot of buildup and runs. **** it, rust preventative right??

haha. when i origionally tacked on the axle brackets they were way off and ****ed up my pinion. i think that's about it on this build haha.

i need to get some grade 8 bolts and the closest place open on sunday is like 10 miles away. probably just wait til monday and drive 10 seconds up the road for them. sometime this week though. i'll be driving without a bed for a little until i finish up the plumbing.

Looking good real good like where you plan on sticking the compressers but will they be OK getting wet if you need a slash shiels get vinyl showerpan liner from home depot I can post a pic of what I used it to shield my relays

it's directly behind the bumper so i don't think anything would splash on it. but i still may run an aluminum deflector. and my relay is mounted right under the headlight (you can see it) behind the crossbar of the grill.
