Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
not trying to get on your shit, but are those tubs gonna be wide enough? the tire is gonna camber in, and since you don't have it yet to check i would hold off on tubbing anymore. then again you might have already taken that into account and have nothing to worry about

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Yeah Bigbake that was one of the steps in getting the tub done at this point in time.
UPDATE fellas: 22's finally ordered. ****ing checks take 1 week to clear? bogus (yeah prolly been that way but its just annoying to me im extremely impatient) SD york 209 mount kit ordered. I said **** my bracket ill just order a perfectly built one thats stronger and PC them orange Rotolock Tube o fittings ordered. **** kilbys shipping price! $15 for what, half an ounce of fittings? LOL Got the rest of the various fittings I needed to complete the plumbing at SD as well Lastly Bought a quad set of Toyo proxies 255 35 22's. bought this all 15 minute ago so hopefully shipping will be pretty quick, who knows. Oh yeah the slim and skinny tank came in today so i can get started on that and start the plumbing. BLF tie rods will be here sometime this week. Thanks RICHIE, you da man. Whats left to before Im laying the front: Braking situation. Hydroboost, brake lines, AHH its just a bitch to me i still gotta learn where goes what. too bad you guys aren't around. I gotta get a P valve as well? the second major thing is relocation of the clutch pedal. Im gonna be mounting old school on the floor. After that its simple shit and were good to go! Can't wait! Oh yeah BTW AC is going, after trying to fit it all the way up and even angled up, it still is cutting into the wheel 2''+ with the deuces. (used my stocker wheel as a template) So at this point NO AC and hot rod style air keeping me nice and warmmm =) More work to come, ive been pretty shitty on updates. just got work again 40+ hours a week, should help me fund some more stuff here and there. Im getting some more work done tonite pics are coming either today or tommorow. Take care Last edited by Vikinglax18 : 06-15-2009 at 11:11 PM. |

are you guys reffering to him not getting out the products or the actual product being bad? I already talked to richie, read the thread before i ordered, and received a shipping notification sometime last week so they are en route.

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
i had a 9 inch wide trailer fender. But if youcan find them id run a 13 inch wide, that way it leaves you some room to trim off and make sure they cover the whole tire when lay'd out. to me when lay'd out and the tire sticks past the inner it looks like crap

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
well with a 13 it lets you push the trailer fender over towards the fender skin. But i just measure on my first gen and a 9 inch goes from inner skin to brake booster. But i know second gens have a littler more room under them so i dont know. Also a 13 inch just gives you a little more room to "adjust" and get them to fit just right. But on mine atleast a 9 inch would cover my needs and leave me room to spare. And 9 inch ones are cheap and easy to find

you need to look at triologys thread. he was bagging his blazer to a 22 and it looks like all he did was massage the wall not cut it up like that.

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Yea trilogy cut the piss out of his firewall. No laying on a 28 inch tall tire without some serious tubs. I had some seam sealer leak and eat away at my shaved firewall on the passenger side, so when i stepped up to my 28 inch tall tires i thought "hell for the time being ill just hammer it in a little and it will clear. since im rebuilding all this and tubing soon". Wrong, i beat the piss out of it and my tires will touch the firewall when layed out

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
FELLAS, word of wisdom and something you should know. If your going to buy rims off the internet, make sure you insure the shipping and or pay extra for a better packaging job. 2 of the rims that i got have really tiny (like half a jelly bean size) scuffs on them, right at the edge of the bead but still visible. they are pretty small and unnoticeable, but we all know that feeling. I kinda blew a gasket after seeing this, and was EXTREMELY peeved that they honestly ship $500 (per) rims across the US in a thin ass 'gianelle' box with minimal packaging. I can't believe i got them in the condition i did. Anyways, rim dealers know that some of the rims aren't gonna last in shipping, hell look at the box. They make sure to say in their disclaimer that they cannot be held responsible for any of the damage, only the shipper. They also go the extra mile to say that all external shipping costs back and forth are yours to pay, so AGAIN, GUYS if you can get your rims shipped to a store then picked up, do that, try to stay away from buying on the internet. I mean yeah some other companies may package better, but this is just sad especially considering how much money i spent on them. But they do look good tho =) I've decided I am gonna be painting the car Flat orange eventually. The center chrome cap and all the chrome bolts on each rim will be PC'd orange in house =) PICS! ![]() ![]() God i hate shipping expensive stuff. Middleman FTL ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It feels good FINALLY being one of those people that always wanted a big nice set of rims. Can't wait to get it on the ground. Still waiting on the edc bracket, alt, and some other stuff. In the mean time i gotta get that damn clutch ready for operation Last edited by Vikinglax18 : 06-24-2009 at 01:41 AM. |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Yeah there are only 2 miniscule spots that are scuffed. you couldnt tell from 4 feet away but they are still annoying me. lol thanks for the comment man i bought some more fittings from SD today and i left a little message to get that edc bracket/ fittings shipped out asap! |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
where did you guys get your inners at? Im looking online at trailor supply stores around the area and dont wanna pay $35 for a single 11'' wide 30'' long fender or sizes close to that. should i just build my own outta the 18g that i have?
Also, everyone knows on the quarter panels that there is some sheet metal framework to give some strength. When i was putting the wheel up in there like that it was rubbing a bit on the tire. When you guys welded those fenders up did you cut some of that framework on the quarter panel to give the wheel some more clearance? |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
when you say quarter panel, you mean your front fenders. If you so, then yea cut what you need to off that fender bracing and either leave enough to weld a new inner back too, or just build around the new inner with sheetmetal to reattach it all together
And trailer fenders have just got pricier over the last few years with steel going up and what not. Also 9 inch wide are common so anything wider will be a little extra. But 35 a piece doesnt sound to bad for an 11 inch wide. And for building your own, its easy to do, but personally i like the rolled edge of trailer fenders. But its all preference |

Pre July 4th update: (Whos ready to BLOW SOME SHIT UP!)
Got the passenger firewall tub all bondo'd, primed, and sealed. Got some stuff powdercoated finally. More nissan orange: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() EDC line air log ready to go, just need to get some more sealant before i crank the fittings down. Whats a good alternative thread locker besides the stuff on Sd.? Tubs came in ![]() Box Of Dankness ![]() How about a little more swagger on the wheels ya? ![]() Finishing up the driver side Clutch master mount on the firewall. Didnt angle it quite enough so I will have to reweld a more angled mount. After that I should be able to seal it all up and get started on getting the dash put back together. d Need 2 measely fittings before the Plumbing's ready to be mounted. I had to find a new stock alt because my old got a crack when the bearing got pulled. Gotta PC that and then get it out. then I can rig up the York Miester. |
