The only things that are gonna suck with baggin 22's is no heat/ac, and all the clutch master cylinder/pedal problem. Only things I'm not looking forward to.

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Yeah Def want to go big and run 22's. I personally do not think 20's fill up the wheel wells on s10 blazers or dimes alone, 22's look content there IMO. Ill prolly ditch the AC because i can still keep heat, ill just angle the fan up to allow more room for it or something, who knows.
Im thinking 255-35r22 or something similar. I may actually get the 21"ers because they surprisingly offer them with the 22's, and that may be the perfect compromise between What i want size wise and having a decent amount of tire on there so i can still Daily drive her. http://www.streetdreams.org/wheels/r...atte%2520Black I honestly Don't know what i want to run. just thought about running 21's and it could be growing on me, whats your guys input. Some updates! Lets just say very motivating, inspiring photos here ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
And to your question yes i did put the bell 2102's on to drop it 2''. I dont know how much tires are. That may be determining if i have them do it where i buy them, or if i buy them and get them shipped here and do it locally.
What do you think? 22's all around or 21's up front and 22's out back? I think they are close enough where it wouldnt look different, yet that extra inch i have upfront would help with room and tire you feel?> |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Tires are around $1k you gotta be f/ joking me. unreal. oh well guess i stilll have to buy em! =)
The thing that hurts is knowing when i need new ones, the trucks gonna be down for a month while i save up lol damn man. how long do tires last usually? Alright fellas help me decide on tire size and one other thing. You saw pics of my bike earlier in the thread, well everything im doing on the truck, metal work or stuff thats small enough to Powdercoat, i will. and its gonna be orange. They offer an orange bezel option on the wheel, but its $60 a wheel, and i think that would be dope. All matte black or matte black with orange bezel?> Last edited by Vikinglax18 : 06-06-2009 at 03:18 AM. |

on the 21's they offer 15mm offset with the 5 x 120, and the 22's they only offer 20mm offset at 5 x 120. will that make a difference?

we got some shitty roads in texas.. i mean, just pay attention and youll be good with 30 series... ive seen people **** up wheels on 40 series, so its all about paying attention.
hell, my mom daily drives on 255/35's and 285/30's on a dropped mustang.. shes got curb marks on all the wheels, but never destroyed something from a pot hole ![]() Last edited by Wicked Mayhem : 06-06-2009 at 09:55 PM. |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
me personally if i was bagging a s10 on 22's, id go 255/35.. looks more proportional imo, not so tiny. and a little more protection. heres 255/30/22(on8.5" wide) and 295/25/22(on10" wide).. found these pics on the net. ![]() ![]() heres 22x9.5 front w/ Toyo Proxes 255/35/22 (about 1k miles on them) 22x10.5 rear w/ Toyo Proxes 285/30/22 (about 1k miles on them) ![]() ![]() ![]() should give you an idea on how tires look... |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
It was a deep pothole on an 70mph freeway, not slow rollin around town, so it's hard to react to something at that speed. I'm still running the same size 255/35/20s all around and it's my daily, but I would be scared to run 30 series. I would run nothing smaller than a 35 series if it was me.. my $.02

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Should i keep it the same all around (255/35/22) or different? Im assuming at this point its purely opinion. I could get the 10.5" wides for the back but they seem like it'd be too wide after bagging it. I dont want to have space issues with the c-notch and brakes |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Got my hydroboost. LMK if you guys need one, see my other thread in the section about it.
![]() Question. Do i need to buy a P valve or can i use that one right there on the Hydroboost? I dont know much about hooking up the different lines to it yet, im still researching the threads about that, but is it compatible?> On a side note, i was doing some more calculations. If i want a 255/35/r22, they only allow me to get like toyos or nittos with the wheels, cause nexen (cheapest) doesnt make that size for the wheel. I went ahead and tried 265/35r22, and that comes out to a 29.3" Diameter, and a 3.7" sidewall. I think that may be perfect! All matte black with those tires should look pretty sick, and the tires shouldnt look too massive either. The reason im more eager to go with the 265 35's is because i can get the Nexen Roadian HPs for it, FAR CHEAPER than any other wheel set ($644 for the set compared to the others at about a Grand) they have a way higher wear rating, and that extra tire should be a bit more forgiving when on the road Last edited by Vikinglax18 : 06-07-2009 at 01:30 AM. |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
what width wheels are you buying? if your buying the same width wheel all around, buy the same width tire all around. if you doing 8.5's, run a 255/35/22.
i dont really know how wide of a wheel you can lay out on in blazers, but i know people lay on 10" wide wheels on blazers.. ive ran 9, 9.5, and 10" on the back of my old blazer with a 7" drop. youd have to way for someone else to chime in. |

most people still would run a 255/35.. tire looks stretched.. which looks like shit IMO.. personally id run a 285/30 on a 9" wheel, but i dont know how that would do up front..
heres a 285/30/20 on my old blazer with 9" wheel.. fit nice, and was not stretched.. ![]() |

How big was that sidewall? That looks like you'd have problems with potholes. What's the difference between the first rating on tires? Like a 245 to 285?

Goals for tommorow:
Start on and get some good work done on the new blower box. Trying to keep AC and heat with the deuces =). Fans comings up all the way, should leave plenty of room. Im contemplating the thought of a more powerful fan? Anyone ever done something like that? it would make up for what you lose when you build a new blower box. also get the stock booster out and get the Hydro ready for hookup |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Yeah its not hard.
Main things: (well from what ive collected) gotta shorted the pedal connecting rod to work (stock is longer) You can use your stock master, fits right up And then the rest is hooking up lines, (p valve or whatever route you take) i mean there are prolly a few more things to do, but ill figure that out later when im at that point |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
That prop valve should work with the H-boost.......hose routing is: high-pressure from pump to H-boost; high-pressure from H-boost to steering gear; low pressure returns get a "T" to return to the pump.
PS.....lots of nice stuff goin' on your truck, but please spend a little time practicing your welding. |

You should totally draw a diagram lol I'm much more of a visual learner than word. And I think your referring to the welds on the spring poclet LOL I'm still new to welding and the autoset had the wire coming out super fast. The other side looks way better cause I fixed that. The welds will be better next time around.

Yeah im thinking that tire size will be good. Im gonna be doing alot of tubbing on both sides up front (not WAY more than normal, just enough to give me a room cushion) so i can run a little bigger tire. should be a great fit |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
in reply to what the numbers of a tire size mean, for a 254/35/20
-245 is the tread width in mm -35 is the aspect ratio (height of sidewall is 35% of the width) -20 wheel diameter so basically you need to match the tread width the width of the rim fairly close, unless your going for the gay stretched look or have problems clearing the proper sized tire and a 245/35 will have a smaller sidewall than a 265/35 for example, so the wider a rim is, the lower your aspect ratio needs to be to keep sidewall to a minimum. hope that will clear it up for you some |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
eh i doubt they do. you should at least get a 245 size or bigger. just find a few of the common 22" tire sizes online and see what their overall diameter ends up being (tire size calculator http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f14/aw...e-calc-91952/). you have SD control arms so you gotta watch how big your tire ends up being.

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
A 255 will look stretched on a 9" wheel and will look like shit! keep in mind the sidewall is proportional to the first number first number is width in mm second number is the percentage of the first. So a 285/30 has about the same amount of sidewall as a 245/35. Personally I run 255/35/20 and they are the smallest tire I was comfortable running, and I have them on an 8" wheel so I get a little bit of curb protection. I use mine daily, and I have gone over a couple potholes and not damaged a rim.
I really hope you decided against 21"s the odd numbers are hard to find tires for and the tire prices are KILLER! keep in mind that with a performance tire there is usually no mileage warrantee like with your stock tires. You will most likely get 25,000-40,000 miles at the most out of your tires. So a 21" or 23" however baller are terrible choices if your truck is going to be driven. |

don't forget about your suspension geometry limitations (ie control arms, tie rods). i forget the size tire SD arms will lay, someone chime in for me.
