Thanks the welder is kickass. still waiting on the damn stand tho. its retarded you can either get like $75 cash back or send in the pamphlet and wait 3 weeks for a stand. WTF? lol its so annoying being stationary.
Anyways, the shaved doors are fun! lol a nice touch i cant wait to fill them in from the outside, only have them installed atm. here are some random shots ![]() what a pos! way too big! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cool shots while spinning ![]() ![]() ![]() |

What I'd like to get done today is the mounting bar that goes across from the ac comp and the tab that mounts to the alternator mount.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I officially hate drilling through this plate. takes forever without a drill press. Still taking some final measurements before i mount the crossbar. I have to put on the new pulley, do some more fitting, and then we'll be in good shape. Ill be gone most of this evening so I prolly wont get to work on it until tommorow |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
I have had a few problems in the last few days.
But i did get some more parts in. bad news last ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Heres the alternator. But with a broken T50 inside the alt shaft. Channel Lock FTMFL. Im giving it to my buddy who rebuilds them, so im gonna give him the new pulley to throw on as well. It slows down here because My garage is where i work and build stuff and i usually leave the truck outside to work on, but its raining here and i dont have a pop up or anything to work under. That and i have no nights because of lacrosse |

im pretty sure that torx bit is for holding the shaft and the large nut on the outside is what rotates. IIRC those pulleys are pressed onto the shaft similar to a power steering pump

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Got some more work done tonite. Got the lower control arm and spindle off, yada yada. i have a few questions tho
There were already drop shocks inside the spring up front, but they are far smaller than the toxics i bought. Which one is the right size? I think its the smaller, but i really cant tell because the bigger may work when compressed ![]() ![]() I can take a comparing pic inside the wheel well tommorow if you guys dont have an answer. alright next How the hell do you separate the bearing/hub assembly from the spindle!? ![]() ![]() ![]() and then progress. sorry for the shitty night shots but its something ![]() ![]() Tommorow hopefully I can get the upper Ca off, and finish the other side completely. hopefully it will be easier putting it all together because alot of these nuts/bolts/ whatever were rusted as hell and so tight, as if it were the first time they were being moved since the first day they were put on. Thanks for the input in advance. |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
The toxic shocks will be fine. I'm running stocks on the front of my blaze and can lay with 20's using sd lower studs and ART relocaters. Keep in mind I also dehumpped my lca's. My recommendation bearing/hub would be to reinstall the knuckle assembly but leave the bolts out of the hub then put a slide hammer on the wheel lugs and go to town. just my $.02 , someone else may have a better way.

Is it a goofy angle of the pic (6th pic in post 52) or do your door plungers actually face forward???
Also, you might want to clean up the "+" battery wiring....all those terminals on one post ain't a good thing..... |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
yeah man. SORRY GUYS haven't had time to update this thread in a while. Just finished up Lax season, came out 4th in state. But im ready to graduate lol. Anyways, that and just got my wisdom teeth pulled this morning, and i cant really be doing anything with alot of movement for the day today and prolly tomorrow as well. The best part about my situation now is I have WAy more time to work on stuff all day after school and weekends, I no longer have to go to practice. Work to make money, and then the truck will come after during the week! super excited now man
Good news, Jason shipped out the arms and the (i think) slim and skinny and they should be here tomorrow, which means ill have 95% of the parts i need to get the front down low. Got the doors shaved right now, just finishing up Sanding the Rage Gold to clean it up. ATM while i sit up stairs bored out of my mind, 80 degrees and sunny out, I'm jotting up a list on my new mac book pro 17" (****ing sick) on my order of operations, how im going to go about doing things Things I need to do: - get the passenger side wheel off and both ca's/ tie rod off (other sides already stripped) - Powder coat the Drop Spindles, bag cups, CA's (I DONT know if im gonna be able to PC the arms because are the ball joints and all that jazz hard as hell to get out? should i just throw some paint over it and call it good?) I know i cant pc it with the BJ's and stuff in. if you have any input on how much work it would be let me know) - recess the tubing in the frame for the shocks, as well as build the lowered shock mount on the CA's - Cut out the spring pockets and weld up any/all seams - Mount Cups on bags then install that shiz (this includes running the air line) Thats basically all i can think of. If some of you guys have a tried and true, really efficient way of going about the whole process, list the steps. Time is on my side but id like to get it done faster than going about it in my own way. |

LIttle update:
Got the bag cups, spindles, and alternator Powder coated. I'm going with a Darker orange called 'nissan orange'. It pops out in the sun it should look pretty cool. Did you guys keep your dust shields when you installed your drops? im about to ditch them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ALRIGHT got a few questions Does the offset of the bag cup matter at all? depend on side? etc. etc pics: ![]() ![]() 2. There are 3 bolts that hold the bearing hub onto the spindle. On our old spindle, they give you 3 holes in the back to push the bolts through. On the new one, they only give you 2 of the holes for the bolts from the back of the spindle. The 3rd hole is IN FRONT, with no access point in the back, but it is threaded. How do you fit that bigass bolt in that little space? what do i do? pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
if they r the sd cups with the hole in the side to run the airline through the frame, then they should only fit up tight on the correct side, the hole in the cup faces the rear of the truck, so place the bag and cup in one side with the hole facing the rear of the truck, and if it pulls up and sucks up flush in the spring pocket then u r good to go, but if it doesnt suck up flush when u tighten the nut, then it probably goes in the other side

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Bro make sure you pack the hell out of those bearings with grease and grease your spindle too, I obviously didn't put in SHIT TONS of grease in mine and I actually seized my bearing hub assembly to my spindle...literally welded itself to my spindle...
In the process it blew off my dust cap over the castle nut and which in turn blew out my BRAND NEW RIMS center cap That was NOT a fun experience... ![]() |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
he has sealed hubs.. so there's no maintenance.
and one has probably been replaced at some point. and i cant see from the pics, but i assume you found the stud that came with the drop spindles to use in place of the third bolt? you ordered sd control arms, did you tell them your running blazer spindles? IIRC they have to do some machining on something for them to not hit. might give them a call to double check on that. |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Yeah i told ricky about the arms going on a blazer, he made the note. and on the bag cups, I meant how the bag mounts to the cup, not cup to truck. Where should the bag be mounted since there is plenty of play within those mounting holes? Do i need to offset the bag away from the engine?

you should push the bags as far towards the outside of the frame as they can go on the cup. that way you dont have to notch as much frame.

everything looks great man. And yea, with a larger bag it makes it easier to slide the bag towards the spindle to keep from cutting into the weld on the engien crossmember. I had to cut mine to slide them over due to my old ass sd cups.

New update:
Arms Came in. Almost Creamed my pants after opening the boxes. Now thatsssss why they are $$$ Excellent workmanship and build quality, the cost is totally justified . Ballin ass shit Jason thanks man ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Question. I ordered them raw as you can see, and I dont want them to rust. Im assuming that = Paint then? LMK The dash removal wasn't bad at all, i just dread putting it back in. Not the actual dash, but routing the wiring harness like it was originally. Its just a breath of fresh air because I can rewire all my switches, my h/u, all the shitty switches i had wired, and make them CLEANNN! yay. ![]() ![]() ![]() Okay 1 more question. You know how on a virgin spring pocket at the bottom, there is that little lip that bends inwards and up? Am i supposed to cut that ****er off? just zip around the bottom edge or what? Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
yes indeed, the little lip all the way around has to go, just be carefull at the part on the back, if you cut to far it cuts into the weld. Just once you get the verticle part of it cut off just pay attention to where you grind and it will be alright.

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
Sweet. I figured it was the little lip. I mounted up the bag on both pockets and made sure there was a maintained spaced of ATLEAST 1/2"+ all the way around the bag. Most of the time it was more, only in some areas was it CLOSE to 1/2'', so i think im pretty set. I read that slams do not ballon right? if so they will work perfect. I cant imagine a balloning bag used in an s10, sure seems like youd have to cut alot more out. SLAMS are ****ing dope anyways. Im just letting my compressor cool down before i go out and mount up the arms and bags.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd like to make a point about cutoff wheels. I was using the 'husky' brand ones that came with my husky cutoff wheel. Better wheels make a HUGE difference. my buddy gave me some of these 'razor edge' ones that were a bit thinner, and they performed much better. I could keep a higher speed longer and at lower air pressures, it would cut through the metal WAYYYY faster, the passenger side pocket was a breeze compared to the driver. I mean, given I've never done it before and the first one was basically a pilot, these cut off wheels helped alot. So if your going out to get some, either get a nicer brand or ones with a sharper, thinner style. they do help out ![]() ![]() |

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
i bet your going to have to cut up higher and a little farther back on the backside of the pocket. Slams dont ballon out but when they compress they get a little fat at the top and bottom. To solve this on my truck i took a big ass cresent wrench and flared the pocket out to make a little lip that cleared the bag

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
X2, definitely need to cut higher and angle back further, you probably want to make the corners more rounded as well. Man, F the 3" air cutoff wheel, the 4 1/2 electric grinder cuts the frame like butter!!

Re: ~PROJECT~ ItzAn808
I probably cut about an inch higher, alittle into the tab, and used the cresent wrench method, and about a 1/2" further back. Things get kind of tight in the top rear corner when the bag is compressed.

And if you cut it up more and use the cresent wrench in your highlighted area, you won't have to cut that section out.
