[Project] Blue Blazer X
Heres the newest arrival to the shop, ScrapinSoLow's 01 Blazer Xtreme. This truck will be laid out, and TJ is looking to do it on a 20/22 combo, so well see what develops in the upcoming weeks..I dont see very many 2nd gen Blazers laid out, and even fewer on 20s or bigger, so Im pretty excited about it. It will be 4 linked and were keeping a/c so it should be an ok daily driver..
Here it is as it rolled up, basically a stock truck.. |

In the shop...I waited a couple days before I brought the truck in, mainly because I rewired the back bays of the shop, added 2 new outlets, and added those 8' double bulb shop lights on the ceiling..Now I can see somethin! w00t

Im kinda worried that if I run an engine driven compressor that my efforts on trying to lay out on 20"s will be futile...I think either the upper control arm or the wheel/tire will hit the compressor
dave can you set me straight? |

Sorry man, I havent dealt much with laying out with the engien driven compressor. However Ive heard that it doesnt sit much past the a/c evaporator and housing, so thats a good thing, since they arent in the way of laying out..

Post pics of my ride? shooo..if it could stay on the road long enough, then I might, but right now its under its cocoon in the driveway, waitin for a new fuel cell.
Ya I came across a problem with this Blazer already..the blower box is completely different from a S10, so its back to the drawing board to make a new design..sucks.. Right now I dont even have the time to make boxes for other people, unless they scedule time in at the shop :\ |

Ya Mike, youre comin in next...just keep them parts dusted and Ill get em in there asap..
Eric, ya I could have called you to do it, but I couldnt put them up with a truck there anyway so it prolly wouldnt have saved me any time..Also Id hate to have ya drive up just to install a couple fixtures and an outlet.. As for the Blazer, I think Im going to try out Jasons new 'weld it yer damn self' four link kit..See if I cant get it to fit this pig.. |

Are you removing the rear seats or fabbing and remounting the rear seat brackets? Also, how much of the rear floor are you cutting/what are your plans for the rear floorboard? Thanks, I will be watching this post like a hawk....lol, I can't wait. |

No TJ..he turned his truck on for me..its friggin rediculously loud..I mean its stupid loud, theres no way you can sit in it..
But ya the seats are gone and the floor is going to receive a HUGE hole..The inside is getting tubbed out of course and I just noticed a new problem last night.. Im going to have to build a tunnel from the tranny to the axle to allow the driveshaft room to move. Also the crossmember just in front of the axle is going to receive a huge step notch to allow for the driveshaft as well. The fuel lines a brake lines will need to get replumbed but I expected that, and the floor most likely will get covered up with sheet metal when alls said and done. |
