And it'll be braced as I see fit so should come out good.
sounds like alot of work! lol

got a project thread on it?

re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 24s

i have done 2x3 under the cab and then start the 2x4 at the very last 6'' of under the cab back. there is a rise in the cab floor in the back and it clears the 2x4 easy.

i agree the 2x4 in the back gives quite a different, more stock look than 2x3.

re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 24s

I'd have to recheck but this 2x2 I believe is 1/4" wall thick. We used this for a complete back half on a Mighty Max hopper and no problems there so for a little frame strengthening it should be well OK.

But no Kris, it's really not that much work. Can't be any more than what yall do to build the full SFBD frames, I just have to do less measuring and guesswork.

Put it this way, my frame will end up looking similar to yours under the cab except I won't be cutting away the stock frame, it's just sectioned down the amount I need. I'll still be using the stock tranny x-member with only the pass side modified where it goes up to the top of the frame. Otherwise everything else still sits pretty much stock. Exhaust fits in stock location with only removal of my converter and slightly raised mounts.

I do this because I don't have access to a shop so to build a new frame is almost impossible. But the way I do it can be done in a weekend and finished. I do my body drop and frame work on stock suspension for ease of things, then build suspension after.

thanks for the good words. its coming along slowly. but i am so picky how certain things look, a couple things had to be redone and done slower than normal.

i hope to have the bed mounts done soon so i can disassemble the frame and paint it. then i can start puttin the cab and everything back together.
