nothing is lined up or bolted in fully. everything still has to be pulled apart to be finished and painted.

re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 24s

Well, just read thru all 14 pages and I must say NICE build. Lots of useful info for my project. So here's some questions to swap from your build to mine:

You're laying out with STOCK spindles correct?

When you talked about narrowing the frame for better turning, you only did the rear area correct?

And to clear those 22's with stock front fenders and stock hood. You say you have a 22x9.5 with a 15mm offset. The wheels I've been looking at are 22x8.5 with the same 15mm offset. My question here is would it be logical to run the same tire and still have clearance on the stock sheet metal or should I drop to a 245? I mean a 1" skinnier wheel would make the overall height of the 255 taller correct?

Anyways, great build up. Any chance on giving me a price for a similar link set up like yours? Of course my frame won't be like yours but I can fab up x members and such to make all the forward mounting points. I just love the lift and articulation you have going there.

thanks man.

yes i can lay out with the 22s and stock spindles.

i narrowed the frame from the firewall back.

i would still run the 255 30 22 on the 22x8.5

i always ran 255 35 on my 20x8.5 wheels and worked out great. never curbed a rim.

my 255 30 22s are stretched to fit the 22x9.5

do you want all 4 bars straight to do a tri 4 link? are you going to mount your bags on the bars?

my bars that are bent are only to clear the frame and give me clearance to mount the bags.

the trick to the articulation is not the bent bars, but because the bars are long as possible and all 8 bushings/bar ends are parrallel to the axle

re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 24s

If the 255's will work good on the 8.5's then that's what I'll run. More rubber on bands is always good.

My bag always go on the bars. I've only done over the axle once and will never run that again. Just ain't no lift there unless you use the triple stack bags.

It really doesn't matter if the bars are bent or what not. I just really like how yours looks set up just the way it is. My only difference would be the actual frame. I won't be round tubed nor narrowed as yours is. I guess imagine it like a stock frame with tank and tank x-member removed.
What I'd do is tack the axle brackets up and mounts the bars to the axle, do my measurements and make whatever x-member/brackets to mount the front of the bars to.

Fabbing and designing aren't hard for me. I can creat something out of nothing, but then again, I can turn something into junk real quick, lol.

Got another question for you Kris.

It seems with your shop you have enough experiance with suspension set ups to maybe answer this.

What's your take / comparison from the ART arms you're using vs. FBI arms? As far as the geometry of the 2?

Definately, lol. V8Blaze, how you like that blazer man? I just traded mine off for 2 400ex's. Just got out the scene for awhile and did my quad thing. Now I'm back in the scene but having to start a whole nother build. If i could stay focused long enough to finish a project I'd be ballin' right now, lol.

This one will get done though and aiming for Scrapin' the Coast.....so 6 months to get off my ass and get to fabbing.

i have no personal hands on experience with their arms. i know alot of people dont care for that whole camber adjuster on the upper arms..

re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 24s

well i had a few minutes today so i got one of the stainless tanks mounted.

also got a few spots of the frame smoothed out and got some temporary paint on them so they will quit rusting.

there will be 1 stainless 5 gallon tank on each side of the fuel cell.

i think the mounts sorta match the spikes theme of the truck.

Got a question for you and those who mount the tanks underneath. Do you mount them directly to your mounts or do you use any type of rubber / bushings between? I've never mounted one underneath so thought I'd clarify.

Definately looks good. Are the tanks mounted at an angle? Keep us posted.

the tanks just mount directly to the frame.

they are also mounted straight, upside down.

i am a valves on the tank kinda guy. always have been for my trucks. so i hope i can stick them on these tanks. if not they will be near the tanks on the frame.

keeps things a little cleaner and i am usually broke so when mounting on the tank it uses less fittings which equal less money.

with less fittings there is also a less chance of any leaks, but if you use good fittings and do it right you shouldnt have any leaks no matter the amount of fittings used. i just like to use the absolute least about of fittings possible.

you will usually have less wiring and cleaner wiring when mounting the valves all together on the tank

thanks for the good words guys, i know its not much progress, but its a constant project keeping organized and cleaned up in the shop.

i been doing alot of smaller projects around the shop and it takes longer to clean up and organize everything before i can get back to work on the sonoma.

i am weird about all my tools and stuff being in specific places
