heims and superpivots are not needed when the link setup is setup correctly to get alot of articulation.

you really want all 8 of the bar ends to be parallel with the axle.

that helps insure a bind free setup.

i will try to take a pic soon of the articulation this truck gets. its crazy

Re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 22s

so now lets talk articulation again..

if you ever see someone post or say that you need heims or some type of super pivot / johhny joint ect ect to get good articulation, refer them to these pics.

straight poly bushings.

now this is just a simple basic 4 link with bags on the bars.

and this is not max articulation at all.

i just lifted the 1 wheel up by hand and slid a jackstand under it.

well a inproper setup would not let the axle to articulate like this without the bushing and bars like you said, bending and binding up.

Are you keeping the S-10 hood or going with a sonoma hood?

dog leg is possible if i hook a big dirty air cylinder to one of the link bars and suck up the one side.

i am gonna rock the s10 hood until i find a mint noma hood.

Holy crap that articulation's CRAZY. So, just out of curiousity, when the axle is level how much can you shift it side to side? It seems like to do that it'd have to be pretty loose but I'm sure you have that covered. I know it all comes down to the link geometry.

Re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 22s

You can get it to dog leg without an air cylinder..... This is called a chain bridge, Seth from Twisted minis did this, these pics are from his thread Project Drag Star on mazdabscene.com. He mountsthe bags on the bars and utilizes suspension straps that are mounted to the inside of the bags, so when one bag is filled and the other emptied = the axle pivots on the suspension strap and the wheel comes up. This setup also made it so he could 3 wheel the front, the fuel cell is in the back so with a full tank it could do a standing 3 wheel! Pretty sweet.....

The straps can also be romved if he wanted to, btw....

Re: Project -Beat 2 Death- 2ooo sonoma bagged stock floor bodydropped on 22s

i still don't see the truck doing a standing 3 even with a full tank. It's gonna take a hell of alot of weight in the back to do that

guess i stand corrected. every vehicle i had played with to 3 wheel took some weight distribution to get to do a standin 3. on my hydraulic truck i had to place all my batteries on the back along with the fuel cell

guess since mazda's long bed's are added in the back that leverage must help
