official 2500 vs 2600 bags up front
We all know you can run a 2600 bag up front on a s10, with proper clearance and install, but why?
> 2600 bag install pics here < Well there are many advantages running a 2600 up front. 1. Ride height pressure will be lower, lower pressure equals better ride. 2. You can get a average of 3 times more lifts with the 2600 with the same tank. That means you will get alot more play time because u need alot less pressure to fill a 2600. Who will this benefit the most? those of us who have a bagged, bodydropped truck with 20s or larger wheels up front. With a bodydrop and 20s or bigger, you need near full lift to make any kind of turn. With a 2500 bag up front, depending on motor size, you need from 120-150 psi to get a good lift up front. Making a turn raised up high, through a rough corner, on some low profile tires is horrible! Sometimes you have no choice to make a turn after u were hittin switchs, and just dont have the pressure built up yet. So what happens, you rub your fenders. Not good. Especially when almost all your inner fender skin is removed just to clear the big wheels. Those of us who drive daily know all about this. If you have 2600's up front it takes alot less pressure to get enough lift to turn. If you run tubular upper control arms you will also get more front lift. Stock arms lock up on the frame quick. Below is some very useful info from mr. nasa doug. (djdaudio) a 2B6 bag will hold, 0.45 gal. a 2B7 bag will hold, 0.748 gal. Plug those numbers into my calculator I made, all based off 12 gal tank 145-110 pressure switch. 2B6. 21.66 fills before no lift. 8.48 fills before comps kick on. <-- 3.38 more fills then 2B7 2B7 61.48 fills before no lift <-- 39.82 more lifts then 2B6 5.10 fills before comps kick on. Now you should try comparing other bags like Slam RS62s and RS72s since their dimensions are completely different than AirLift or Firestone....

Re: official 2500 vs 2600 bags up front
dang man, I just got my truck back with the smaller 2b6's in the front and jesus you're right. I need like 120psi to turn and I can't haul anybody in my truck. That sux hard, cause I want to take some of my friends dragging. If I use the 2b7 that should help it right?

Re: official 2500 vs 2600 bags up front
yep! im in exactly the same boat as you right now... have to have the bags aired up to 120 just to make a turn and clear the fenders. THe larger 2b7's get more usuable lift then the 2b6's. I have my new bags, just need time to install them. ![]() |

Re: official 2500 vs 2600 bags up front
ahh yes I am loving my 2600's up front, pretty much everything he just said is what I love, wicked lift and nice ride and I hated having to run like 135 psi and more with a fat friend of mine just to be able to turn with my 2500's

Re: official 2500 vs 2600 bags up front
I got stone 2500's. My ride height is 80-90 psi. The ride is nice to me. It would be nice to get around the 40-50 psi range like how you said though. I max out at like 130 psi with my stones in the front. I got 18's as well.

i have been thinking about upgrading my slames to the larger size and it really sounds like bigger is better in this case.
