Question Not clearing 19's?? Help!

So I'm not new to the scene at all but I'm at a loss with my 96. I built a sonoma that was bodied on 20's so automatically I had to cut the firewall, but I don't want to go that crazy with my s10 I figured 19's would tuck with ease without being bodied. Nope. What have you guys had to do with your 20's to make them lay frame ? Can't imagine needing to cut into my firewall to tuck 19's that seams nuts. Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

Re: Not clearing 19's?? Help!

you have to cut into the firewall when you run most 18's unless you run a smaller tire.unless you run a rubber band i dont see it laying out on 19's without cutting into the firewall

Re: Not clearing 19's?? Help!

You definitely have to cut the fire wall to lay frame on 20"s. I would be almost certain on 19"s as well. Relocate all of the crap on you inner fenders, smaller booster, etc... Pretty sure you are going have all the hassle of 20"s plus tires for 19"s are more $.

Re: Not clearing 19's?? Help!

Read up on the builds. There are at least 100 trucks on here laying frame on 20"s. use that search button, it's a good deal of work to do it right. Not difficult, just a lot of little steps you don't realize until you get started.

That's why this forum exists, though. Just s10 guys helping s10 guys.

Re: Not clearing 19's?? Help!

Well I did a little research already and couldn't find much. I was really hoping to avoid the cutting.

Gotta go smaller or not as low. Sorry dude, but both of those sound lame. If you bodied a truck this should be cake

my stock 25.5" tire touched the firewall before I bodied it. You will have to tub it.

Start cutting.

Agree, we can't let this scene die. We need more cut trucks.

Re: Not clearing 19's?? Help!

This is how I believe it should be done. Had to do some extra work but it will definitely pay off. Turns out my ball joints are also a factor in my notability to lay out completely but that's an easy fix. Thanks for the help guys! Definitely felt better after talking it up with you guys first.

Pics or it didn't happen. And like I said I'm not new to any of this. It's just this will be my first non body dropped truck so wasn't sure what to look forward to. I already have plans on modifying my blower box and already have the material to notch for tierods. This ain't my first rodeo lol
