Re: LSOH bump steer/steering kit group buy, AGAIN!!!
The fact that you are running a thread lubricant over a locker is drastically changing the function of how well the bolt holds the center link on the stud. Using a thread locker will provide a lot more torque strength then you might imagine.
Also, are your bushings pressed together all the way? The bolt surface should be mating against the stud and not the bushing. If it is mating only against the bushing then no matter what sort of locking device you put on it, the bolt will turn out. The paint on the center link could be changing the tolerances that are machined on the kit to where the bushings are spread wider then Eric design. What is the black thing between the bushing and washer?
Getting word on Eric about this issue. He has said out of the 53 kits sold to date, he has never ran across this problem with any of them when thread locker was applied to the appropriate fasteners. He is including assembly instructions and thread locker with each kit to promote the idea of its importance in the use of the kit. To the point where he is considering him assembling every kit that leaves the door now, whether it is coated or not.
Maybe I can get Eric in here to help express the issue. He doesn't want anyone to feel unsafe running his products on their truck.
