Re: Layin With a Sway bar.

Got mine all tacked up tonight. Decided to ditch the posi-link end links and run heims joints instead. Im bodied on 20's with the stock sway bar flipped and DID NOT have to notch the frame

Only problem i see with running a sway bar like this is on a non body dropped truck. My steering is limited when the truck is any where from layin on the ground to about 4" off the ground, after that i have full steering. I could honestly careless about this because i pretty much have to be at full lock to make any kind of serious turn

Re: Layin With a Sway bar.

flipping the sway bar doesnt work in my 03 s10 with a zq8 sway bar btw. it hits the frame hard. and since i have aftermarket control arms (blf) i cannot just use a shortened end link due to them being round tube arms. but im using 03 dodge dakota 2wd endlinks they have a single ball joint at the bottom and i moved the sway bar 1" forward to get the proper angles with the blf arms. i saw how lowdime did his and wasnt too comfortable with the upper balljoint having so much play. i figure it would defeat the purpose but i havent spoken to him about it to know. i'll throw up pics when i get some. anyone else with aftermarket control arms find a different way to do this?

Re: Layin With a Sway bar.

i ran the swaybar on my SD arms on my truck for thousands of miles last year, was a very nice addition to the truck since it was so heavy. there is also a set on a blazer i bagged out in Indiana. they are a prototype tho, similar to the heim joint setup above but with high misalignment spacers. they may be available from SD in the future, thats up to them.

my truck layed hard on 20s with drop spindles and the sway bar was no where near the frame. i also just installed another set on a truck with 18s and stock spindles, and the frame didnt need to be notched either.
